    Default The Starjammers

The Starjammers are a fictional team of space pirates appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. The Starjammers have often appeared in the pages of the X-Men comic books. The Starjammers first appeared in Uncanny X-Men #107 (October 1977) and were created by Dave Cockrum. The name "Starjammers" was created on the basis of the type of sailing ship known as "Windjammer".

Hopefully they Team Up with the Guardians of the Galaxy for vol. IV
The agreement also provides Disney with the opportunity to reunite the X-MEN with the Marvel family under one roof and create richer, more complex worlds of inter-related characters and stories that audiences have shown they love. It only makes sense for Marvel to be supervised by one entity. There shouldn't be two Marvels.

    Talking Happy 40th anniversary 616 Starjammers!!! 1977-2017

    Uncanny X-Men #107 Oct 1977
"Where No X-Man has Gone Before!" Part 2 of 3. Guest-starring the Starjammers (1st full appearance).
Thanks to the awesome power of Phoenix, the X-Men have arrived on the far side of the universe.
However things go from bad to worse when they are greeted by a small army of super-beings under the thrall of a sadistic madman.

First appearance of the Starjammers and the Shi'ar Imperial Guard!

    Uncanny X-Men #108 Dec 1977
"Where No X-Man has Gone Before!" Part 3 of 3. Guest-starring the Starjammers.
On the far side of the universe alone and cut off from their mentor, the X-Men must face their worst nightmares if they are going stop the mad Emperor D'Ken,
from unleashing the unimaginable power of the M'Krann Crystal upon the universe.

NOTE: This issue marks the first of a long and distinguished run by one of the greatest creative teams ever assembled - Chris Claremont, John Byrne, and Terry Austin.
Over the course of the next 36 issues they will go on to tell some of the most prominent X-Men stories. Stories that still resonate to this day.

I think when you mention starjammers to general audiences the first reaction would be "It's cyclops dad! how's cyclops dad so cool?"
