Ten years into the future, in a world without a Batman, Gotham City has been taken over by the Collective, with Gala acting as Head of Citystate. In a high-tech town with zero tolerance toward caped crusaders and masked vigilantes (except for those designed by Gala and her association of aristocratic artisans), what’s a woman who has vowed vengeance to do? And what’s happened to her mother, Rebecca Paige? Perhaps The Joker, now a sad clown who makes balloon toys shaped like tommy guns and machetes on the abandoned Gotham docks, has the answers. Find out for yourself as Mother Panic returns to a different Bat-time, different Bat-channel.

    Thoughts:

    - Always up for a good Jim/Babs team-up .

    - It'll be nice to see Helena's mother again but "Burnrate?" Seriously?

    - I'm interested to see how King handles Ivy in control of the whole world, although "brought to you by the creative team behind “The War of Jokes and Riddles" does nothing for me .

    - Telltale Deadshot and Black Spider should be cool.

    - Batgirl on that Batman/TMNT cover...she really needs a new costume.

    - I'm guessing by the 'Tec solicits that the trial ends with Batman disowning Batwoman and Kate then takes over the Colony like in the future visions, with Tim taking issue with Bruce's decision. Although it's weird to see them talk about Bruce and Tim's "partnership" when Tim's not even the official Robin, but I guess Tynion is going by Morrison's take.

    - Also, I'm sure a title like "Batman Eternal" is going to cause some interesting reactions.

    - The idea of Jon having to deal with Damian's past as a killer should be pretty interesting, given he's kind of gotten a "sanitized" look at Damian throughout their relationship.

Ugh, there's something seriously wrong with Black Canarys face on that cover of BatBOP.

    Also Tec sounds awful.

Still, looking forward to the dad and daughter teamup in Batgirl, all the Nightwing whump, and Batman sounds interesting. I love how King writes BatCat.

It's a fine line to walk here. Unless whatever Kate does is due to her being compromised somehow (like brainwashing), I can't see her just going along with this. If this is the case, she needs to leave on her terms, even if that also aligns with what Bruce wants. The #975 solicit seems to indicate that Kate feels justified in killing whoever she kills, so it wouldn't make sense for her to suddenly accept what amounts to exile, at least not that I can see.

The Colony handover will be interesting, as will Tim's possible defection to them. Future!Kate did mention that she mentored him for a while, so it had to happen sometime.

You are right.. She seems one adolescent like the current Steph/Cass.. Even younger than Steph/Cass Batgirls...

I heard that Babs is more the Batgirl that you normally want(personality, costume...), in Injustice Comic..

That Ivy cover is brilliant. I think this is the first time I've been enticed with a Batgirl solicit thanks to Jim and Babs interacting. I miss seeing them. Nightwing sounds good.

To me it strikes a good balance, despite the nature of that universe. She feels like a seasoned classic Barbara Gordon that has a really good costume. I like the symbol being stretched across her chest.

You are right.. She seems one adolescent like the current Steph/Cass.. Even younger than Steph/Cass Batgirls...

I heard that Babs is more the Batgirl that you normally want(personality, costume...), in Injustice Comic..

Injustice Babs is the best I'm getting from Barbara at the moment. Everytime Burnside chick stands next to the other Batfamily members she looks ridiculous and out of place.

Robin Beyond! Hopefully he gets his own unique future suit.

    Swamp Thing?

That's him, right? Why no mention?

I first thought it was Swamp Thing too, but I think it's a completely different character.
