So I'm reading this and have run into a stumbling block and hope that someone who read this may be able to help out and explain things.
On page 48, when Selina hands Gordon Rachel's diary, after the reveal that Dehaven abused Rachel when she was a kid, it goes to say "The letters from important Gotham citizens told of how he used his hold on her to his political advantage"
What important Gotham citizens? If he was abusing her, why would important Gotham citizens know about this secret and how exactly would one use sexual abuse to gain Political advantage? Doesn't it work the other way around, wouldn't the fact that said "important citizens" knew about it hinder his political carrer??
Then it goes on to say "He had set them up with her and climbed to success over their broken hearts, with all the photographs and letters he needed to make the blackmail work"
Who did Dehaven set up with Rachel? Why were their hearts broken? What letters (the worried citizens??) and if there were photographs of what he'd done how could he use it to blackmail anybody, again, wouldn't it work the other way around that Dehaven would be blackmailed over what he'd done?? This isn't clear at all and makes zero sense.
Hope someone can help clear things up.
