You really think it's one of the best? I like it and all but it has lots of problems I can't say it's one of the best.

I wonder if the new trilogy will be a somewhat smaller story in scope-Rian's comfort zone seems to be more minimalist stuff like his previous films and his "Breaking Bad" work.

I think that the main argument would be that Rian Johnson's film really fractured the star wars fan base between newer fans and Older fans (for the most part, it's a generalization and certainly not true in every case but for the most part original trilogy fans are upset and newer fans love the movie). TFA really seemed to unite old school fans and add newer fans mostly because while it wasn't perfect it felt like TFA respected original trilogy characters while the last jedi really did not( in my opinion). Given the pretty negative response from fans based on RT and box office drops it is clear that Johnson's vision did turn off a lot of fans. It isn't going to hurt episode 9 because as much as fans complain we are 2/3rds of the way through the new story and plenty of fans who hated 8 will still show up for 9 just to see how it ends and if luke comes back etc. But launching a new trilogy completely unconnected to the originals and completely in the hands of Johnson might be a bad idea now because alot of fans really don't like the way that Johnson handled Star wars and might skip out on his new trilogy.
You think Disney cares about angry people on message boards not liking the movie? They look at box office, critic reviews, and merchandise sales all of those seem to be checked by this movie. Stop overrating the opinion of online fans we get it you guys are mad, but be realistic Disney does not care.

I want a trilogy set in Wild Space and the farthest reaches of the Outer Rim. With Space Pirates, Gunslingers, and Bounty Hunters.

If the main trilogy is Sci-Fi/Fantasy Samurai, I want the spin-off to be Sci-Fi/Fantasy Wild West. Less gritty than Firefly though. Maybe something akin to Back to the Future III meets Farscape.

And I'm 100% serious. I think it would be fantastic.

From best to worse for me is.

    1: Empire Strikes Back.
    2: A New Hope.
    3: Return of the Jedi.
4: The Force Awakens (I simply enjoyed the New Characters even if the story wasn't original).
    5: Rogue One.
    6: Revenge of the Sith.
    7: The Last Jedi.
    8: The Phantom Menace.
    9: Attack of the Clones.

But I also don't think Rian Johnson is going anywhere.

Do you know how absurd you sound saying that. 3 movies so far 2 cleared a billion and the 3rd one appears to be going that way also. You would be one of the biggest jokes and worse business man in hollywood. Stop letting your personal feelings cloud your judgement.

Truthfully, even the one's I don't think are great I still enjoy. If someone adamantly said AotC was their favorite, I wouldn't agree but I don't think it would bother me. There are parts of that movie I think are genuinely enjoyable even if there are problems in technical execution.

By The Clone Wars do you mean the series or the Direct to DVD/TV movie that kicked off the show? I'd put the movie by itself at around the same place as you but the show as a fully realized concept would be at #4.

And Rebels would go between TFA and RotJ on my list.

The movie that kicked off the show. It was actually released in theaters. While I agree with the criticism that it was more of a 3-episode tv arc than a full-length movie, I still thought it was good otherwise. The show as a whole is pretty much 'what the prequels should have been.'

Meh. This is the same troll who said in another thread TLJ was feminist propaganda. Hard to take this nitwit seriously about anything.
