    Default Where to go after The Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus Volume 3?

    I’m pretty new to reading The Amazing Spider-Man series and have all 3 omnibus’s. I’m soon to be finished reading volume 3 and not sure where to go after that and don’t want to wait for volume 4 since that could be a while before it comes out. The Masterworks are sadly so expensive now so I can’t get those even though I’d like to, any advice would be great! Thanks!

    If you don't mind digital comics, the masterworks are pretty cheap on Amazon.

    There's also Marvel Digital Unlimited, a ten bucks a month streaming comics service that lists a lot of Spider-Man comics.

    As for physical comics...

    Rumor has it a new creative team/ direction is going to kick off in a few months, so you might want to wait for that.

    If you like omnibuses, two good ones are the collection of Roger Stern's run, as well as Untold Tales of Spider-Man, which is set at the same time as the first omnibus.

    Other noteworthy collections are Kraven's Last Hunt (one of the best Spider-Man stories), The Death of Jean Dewolff, and Birth of Venom (collects the alien costume saga and first Venom appearances.)
    Sincerely,
    Thomas Mets

    Thankyou for the information, not into digital comics at all sadly! It just seems to be hard to find a complete run of them in trades (other than the oop expressive Masterworks) I’ll check these trades out though, is there maybe a list of trades that would put me in the right direction where I can read them in order ? Thanks!!

    SM = Spider-Man
    ASM = Amazing Spider-Man
    WSM = Web of Spider-Man
    SSM = Spectacular Spider-Man

    Well AMS Hardcovers include issues #1-104 + some extras

    For the following issues you can get:

    1. you can wait for vol.4 but it seams like there is a 5 year gap between each volumes.

    2. or if you don't mind digital versions you can look for The Amazing Spider-Man: The Complete Collection dvd that contains Amazing Fantasy #15; ASM #1-441, vol. 2 #1–58, #500-531, Annual #1-28, '96-2001

    3. or you can switch collection with the Epic collection

    Thankyou! Even better, you’ve been very helpful! One question , are there any trades to fill in the big number gap of Goblins last stand and Ghosts of the past? Other than masterworks (way too expensive :/) thanks again.

    One word of caution, as an ASM Epic Collection collector; while these volumes do include some of the non-ASM Spidey series (Spectacular, Web, etc.) when a story was divided between the different series, they don't collect all of the sub-series issues, leaving some gaps. For example, in the Ghosts of the Past set, there are several comics that show Spidey and Black Cat as a team, but then suddenly, the comics have them broken up, with the Spectacular issue with that event not accounted for in the book.
    Doctor Strange: "You are the right person to replace Logan."
    X-23: "I know there are people who disapprove... Guys on the Internet mainly."

    The Gap goes from issue #124 to issue #258.

    Part of this gap is filled with:
    *Nothing Can Stop the Juggernaut - that you can find in The Gauntlet book 4 - Amazing Spider-Man #229-230
    *Spider-Man by Roger Stern - Amazing Spider-Man #206, 224-252
    *The Alien Costume Saga - Amazing Spider-Man #252-263

    After a quick search, I indeed forgot some great stories, but these are not omnibuses but only tpbs:

For example, in the Ghosts of the Past set, there are several comics that show Spidey and Black Cat as a team, but then suddenly, the comics have them broken up, with the Spectacular issue with that event not accounted for in the book.
    Oh, any advice on this?

I’m soon to be finished reading volume 3 and not sure where to go after that and don’t want to wait for volume 4 since that could be a while before it comes out. The Masterworks are sadly so expensive now so I can’t get those even though I’d like to, any advice would be great! Thanks!
    You can still get the Stern Amazing Spider-Man omni for about $50-60 and it's awesome!

    Let the buyer beware?

    I don't know. If you want everything, I guess you should take into account what's missing, based on the contents list of the Epic Collections, and then find the missing stuff in other books or back issues.

    Personally, while I find it annoying, it's not a dealbreaker for me getting the Epic Collections. The writing style of the time also recaps things in story to remind readers, so it's not like they don't keep you in the loop. I've really liked the Epic Collections so far, but if you want to get into them, you should know that that you may need to get some non-ASM comics from elsewhere if you want everything. (I actually learned about the gaps the hard way after thinking that they did have everything, so I think it's only fair to let other customers know what they're going into if they want to go this route.)

    I find the whole thing a bit confusing at the moment considering I’m new to spiderman comics but eventually I’ll get round to the missing stuff, just not sure what it is yet but I’m sure I’ll work it all out, thanks for your post!
