Finished reading Gotham Central last night, it was the omnibus edition and was a hell of a read. Even with the very little super heroics in it, it still felt a little too much. The art was a little hit and miss, mostly great but some of the substitute artists didn't hit the mark of Lark. Overall I did enjoy it, and the paper quality is amazing on this book.

    Gotham Central 40 issues.

    "week" 40 issues
    Total 150

Sweet tooth is Lemire, but i feel you. I wanted to try out Dept H since it's wrapping up soon, but now I'm not so sure. Care to elaborate on it? My to read pile is shameful, and space is a concern

Lemire is the Underwater Welder guy right? Was not a fan of that.

Department H was okay, I read a couple of issues and it just didn't engage me. It just seemed to be missing the emotional attachment that Mind Management had. and MM hooked me right away. I will give Department H vol 1 a go as I do think that Kindt deserves it, but my expectations are lower.

    Rai was just dull.

Idk how far you made it, but I thought Rai's time on Earth was much more interesting than New Japan

    update:

Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 3) HC v2 (14) - This whole volume gets dismissed a lot, as it bridged the time between SSM ending and Secret Wars, but i thought Slott managed to make things interesting for the most part. Having to balance Peter's return, a "major" addition to the mythos, a huge spider-event all while bringing things to a head for Secret Wars could not have been an easy task. All-in-all, i liked this era more than i remembered.

Amazing Spider-Man (vol. 4) HC v1 (11) - first time diving into "Worldwide", and was not really impressed. First couple arcs were pretty weak, and not because of the changes, they just weren't interesting. The Zodiac and Regent were both forgettable adversaries that lead to forgettable arcs. Slott spent a lot of time eluding to other goings on, and as a result these early stories felt a lot like filler. We'll see if the payoff was worth it.

Thor HC v1 (9) - Lady Thor's first collection. Felt like a little drop off from the highs of GoT, but i love the character (and Thor in his sidekick role!), but most of this dealt with everyone transitioning to the new status quo. i believe this series was right before SW as well, so I'm sure that affected the pacing somewhat.

Batgirl by Miller TP v1 (12) - First Batgirl I've sampled. Heard good things, and it started off slow for me, but the additions of Dick, Damian and Tim gave the series a shot in the arm i feel like it desperately needed early on.

Working on Green Arrow (2001). I don't remember Kevin Smith being so wordy.

Not yet, as he's still writing it, but I assume it will be eventually. So far we have:

Thor: God of Thunder v1-2 (collects Thor: GoT 1-25)
    Thor v1 (collects pre-Secret Wars Thor 1-8)
Thor v2 (collects post-Secret Wars The Mighty Thor 1-12)

*also some annuals thrown in the mix, but who counts those, amirite?!

I thought the same thing when I re-read his Daredevil a few years ago.

I don't come to this part of CBR. I came here by mistake clicking on it instead of DC. Fantastic thread! I will come up with an update very soon.
