Supergirl (vol. 5) TP v3 (12) - Man, there's been some weird stuff going on in this series, along with tie-ins making it difficult to find a rhythm. By the end of this collection, the story seems to have all the past stuff sorted out, but it's a little surprising the series lasted as long as it did with it's unevenness up to this point. Maybe that speaks to the popularity of Kara as Supergirl more than anything.

Nightwing (Rebirth) HC v2 (13) - 28 issues in and the series continues to be middling. Apperances by Damian and Huntress propped the arcs up somewhat.

Have you read Williamson's Flash Rebirth? If so, what'd you think? I'm super keen to try Nailbiter as the concept and art seem great, but I'm not a fan of his Flash, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Disappointing to hear that about Nightwing, really enjoyed the first hardcover.

I read the first HC. Have the 2nd, but haven't gotten to it yet. I found it pretty meh as well, tbh. If you like the first Nightwing, you'll probably like the second, as it's really more of the same. Both Flash and Nightwing haven't really done anything for me since Rebirth, but they weren't horrible like JL and SS lol.

Williamson also writes Birthright for Image. I only read the first trade, but it was pretty solid as well. Maybe it's just his Flash?

Very cool, I’ll definitely give Nailbiter a try. Waiting until they (hopefully) solicit a third hardcover to dive in, though.

The Horror, The Horror: I'll count this as five 1950s issues. It's a decent analysis of the themes and background of the 1950s horror comics with some good work by the likes of Basil Wolverton and the great A. Nonymous.

Moon Knight (2016) #1-14: Lemire's run is a creative take on the superhero who thinks he's insane, a bit of an old trope, explored in more depth than ever before, but certainly fitting for the character.

Preacher- One Man's War: The Herr Starr spotlight might be Garth Ennis' finest hour, the rise of one of the best villains in comics.

Avengers #101-125, Defenders #8-11, Captain Marvel #33: The Bronze Age Marvel comics feature the tail end of Roy Thomas (including a decent apocalyptic Sentinels epic) and the kickoff of Englehart, who ratchets up the tension, although the quality of the villains/ challenges is a bit mixed.

Captain America #136-137: Decent Stan Lee/ Gene Colan tale from the perspective of a new villain.

Supervillain Classics #1: Seems to be a combination of flashbacks from the Lee/ Kirby Thor run on the origins of Galactus. Cosmic Marvel at its prime.

    And some Spider-Man...

    Amazing Spider-Man Volume 4 #12-24
    The Clone Conspiracy #1-5/ Omega
    Marvel Team Up #15-17
Peter Parker the Spectacular Spider-Man #35-37
    Silk #14-17

Total So Far: 572 Issues, Six from the Golden Age, 10 from the 1950s, 34 from the 1960s, 76 from the 1970s, 13 from the 1980s, 23 from the 1990s, 100 from the 2000s complete, 100 from the 2010s complete

Best of the batch: Preacher- One Man's War
    Sincerely,

Haven’t read as much as I’d like these past few months, but here’s what I did read.

    April-May - 30 Issues
    Batgirl #13-21
    Jeepers Creepers #1
    New Challengers #1
    Venom #1
    Justice League: No Justice #1
    Avengers #1
    Marvel Rising #0
    The Terrifics #1
Batman Volume 1: The Court of Owls
    Hunt For Wolverine #1
    Batman #33
Death of Wolverine: Life After Logan #1
    Defenders #6-7
    Uncanny X-Men #600

June - 23 Issues So Far
Batman: A Death in the Family
    The Curse of Brimstone #1
    Sideways #1
All-Star Batman Volume 1: My Own Worst Enemy
    Nightwing #44

    Total: 348

    Thoughts:
Of the NAOH titles, I thought The Curse of Brimstone and Sideways were really good, The Terrifics was interesting and New Challengers was okay. Nightwing #44 had a really interesting villain that I thought was really cool and I’m looking forward to seeing how Percy uses Babs in his run.
My Own Worst Enemy was really cool and though the art wasn’t really up my alley I really dug the message and the overall storyline. Batman writers should really use Two-Face more and frankly if they’re going to give all these villains redemption arcs, where’s Harvey’s? The guy’s practically begging for one at this point. It would make for an interesting story at the very least.
I finally read A Death in the Family! I liked the actual A Death in the Family storyline but A Lonely Place of Living was just bad in my opinion. I think Tim Drake was supposed to come off as intelligent and resourceful but he kinda just seemed like a creepy stalker. I was waiting for Dick or Bruce to be like “leave strange child whose been taking pictures of us for years”. He’s like a deranged fan of some boy band that broke up years ago with his obsession with Batman and Robin. He literally said “Batman and Robin have meant everything to me” & “I wanted Batman and Robin back together the way they should be”. Like okay, buddy, I think you might need some therapy. I get that Tim Drake is relatable to a lot of people but he just came off very badly to me in this. Maybe someone can convince me otherwise. I’m reading Robin Volume 1: Reborn sometime this week, so maybe that’ll help me get past my first impression.

It's been a long time since I've posted. My comic reading has been pretty sporadic since February. We bought a haouse and moved in in March, but I still found some time to keep up with some of my pull list. I left off with 67 comics read. Anyway here's what I've read from March until now:

    68-75. Amazing Spiderman 794-800
    76-88 Avengers 678-690
    89. Avengers (2018) 1
    90. Avengers 2
    91-93. Captain America 698-700
    94-96 Doomsday Clock 3-5
    97-106 Flash 39-48
    107-110 Marvel 2 in 1 3-6
    111. Marvel 2 in 1 Annual 1
    112-114 Mister Miracle 7-9
    115-122 Peter Parker 299-205
    123. Terrifics 1
    124. Thor 1
    125. Immortal Hulk 1
    126. Hawkman 1
    127-132 Saga 7-12

I really like the new marvel and dc #1's. Who knows how long a Hawkman series can last, but I really like this version of Carter and hope it lasts a little while.

So that's 132 down and 868 to go. I have a lot to catch up on to make our goal!

    I will be giving my Updates to my list within the next month or 2 but I had a questions;

Can we include Manga into the constest and 1 manga chapter = 1 Comic book issue likely?!

    Just wanted to know.

Personally, I include manga and novels etc in my list. Nobody (except for that damned Balakin!) has raised any issue with it. At least, not to my face - this forum is full of nefarious characters...

When did I objected to manga ?
Novels yeah cause that's not comics but anything else that's considered comics anywhere be it manga, fumetti, bande desinee or whatever is fair game.
