I mean its pretty interesting to think all of phantomex's activities add up to him being "merged with Prof x's spirit" or whatever kind of a lot to give Charles legs, and a costume change.

I'd much rather have Soule working on a main X-Men team book - the core titles are so weak right now, I hate how everything is spun into new books when you could use Jean, Charles etc. to make the main ones more interesting. Instead they keep coming out with a new half-dozen spin-offs which end up being inevitably short-lived.

I voted no because I am indifferent to Xavier being dead, alive or in space (I think my preference would be for him to be alive, married to Lilandra, in space, as consort king of the Shi Ar empire)
And I think a Xavier who keeps his Xavier powers in the body of Fantomex, with the powers of Fantomex, risks being a very overpowered Mary Sue.

If Charles Soule is writing it, then yes. I'm certainly excited about the prospect of a Professor X solo series. I think he needs one. Ever since the latter part of Grant Morrison's run, Professor X has been deconstructed and discredited at every turn. It's like everyone at Marvel is trying to make him less likable. But he's still Professor X and I think his character needs to be rebuilt so that he can guide the X-men again. And after reading Astonishing X-men, I think Charles Soule is best suited to do just that.

sorry, but you did not and you know you didn't. if you're going to provide a counterpoint, you could at least try to put an effort into it.

if you don't think it's the professor, i'm certainly here to read a well-reasoned argument otherwise, as i'm sure the rest of the board would be as well.

as for professor in today's comic, it certainly looks like soule is here to give us a strong re-introduction to charles.
