I don't know Bill Nye, but I'm not sure I'd consider any of the others listed to be unstable (unless you're talking about the Batman vs Superman version of Luthor)

Comic book Luthor is still the guy who wore a kryptonite ring on his finger until it gave him terminal cancer, cloned a new body, passed himself off as his own son, and finally after for years having managed to pass himself of as a respectable human being to the public, and out of nowhere injected kryptonite in his veins (!), climbed into some power armour and started slugging it out with Superman on live television. While being President.

And remained a genius the whole time. That's pretty stable, at least as far as the genius part is concerned.

The Joker has always been a criminal genius, however that's the only consistent thing about him so I'd have to say Consistency =/= Stability.

Yeah, that is not really what they mean by 'stable'.

Also, I really don't think his IQ was quite up to genius levels when he sexually assaulted Amanda Waller, injected green K into his veins, and outed himself as a supervillain.

Does Bill Nye have a PhD, or even a masters degree? I look at him as much more of an entertainer than anything else, especially now that he is supposedly "saving the world."

According to Wiki, he has a BS in mechanical engineering from Cornell. No higher degrees, officially, but he has received honorary doctorates from some places.

I saw that, but I thought Wikipedia might be wrong. I always thought he had multiple degrees in multiple fields of science. Not that I am trying to diminish his academic accomplishments, I was just surprised to see that.

Simply being smart/intelligent doesn't make one a genius, there's no comparison between Nye & Hawking for example.

Not dissing the guy, just saying he doesn't qualify as a genius to me.

He's obviously pretty smart and has good skills at conveying subject matter. There is more to a person than academic accomplishment, thank goodness.

Not saying you didn't know that. I was kind of surprised as well, that he only had a BS and that it was in engineering. He doesn't seem like an engineer type to me, too outgoing.
