    No one is competition for the MCU right now but it doesn't really matter cuz you don't have to be top dog to fill the 3 spot as for valiant being unknowns we all have to start somewhere.

    Blade had no brand back in 1998, even within much of the comics-fan community. Iron Man's brand was (charitably speaking) confined rather strictly to comic fans and former comic fans back in 2008. It can be done. Not, most likely, by positioning it head-on against Marvel, but if something like X-O Man-a-War positions itself as a Sci-Fi Action Film, it could be done.

    If we've learned nothing else from the success of Guardians of the Galaxy and Doctor Strange, and from the failure of BvS and Justice League, it should be that name or brand recognition plays a much smaller role in a film's success than many of us want to believe.
