One infantryman from the squad that engaged Chou and Sasheem saw Basaara twist one of his partners into a wreck. He miraculously survives thanks to Chou's injuries and the remnants of his armor's field, only to see Adam bore through the vehicle and steal its gun and the Majin lift the armoured car contemptuously and sends it flying. With no other option left, he falls back to base hailing his calling frequency.

"Top, do you read me?" he calls out, his voice audible after Chou destroyed his helmet, "Bravo Team is down! Alpha team, falling back! Let the Asset handle it!"

Command Team and Assault Team have consolidated their forces

The APC, meanwhile, splits open upon Sasheem's strike, weathered by the damage it had sustained before, splits apart to reveal their next opponent.

The explosion from the fallen carrier behind it bathes its crimson frame in shadow as it powers on. A shield array lifts off of its back hovering under the force of a plasma tether; in its left hand a short-barreled blaster rifle, in its right a shield bearing the axe-head insignia of the Red Raiders.
Still hidden behind the ships broadside, Koorimaru's frown deepened as his drones observed the massive mecha monstrosity before him. It was certainly a sight to behold on the battlefield, and perhaps even he felt the slightest hint of concern at their prospects.

Cursed Jinzi...We give him one simple task, and he fails in that regard at every turn...

    Held

Departing on his advance, he is currently positioned halfway between the Raider base and the Battle Line behind him.

    Team Recon

Shiro and Etrina remain undetected for now.

Meagan gets the distinct impression that she is being watched. She hears the echo of radio chatter some distance behind her; the same message broadcast from the battlefield outside the base.
Glancing back as the shock waves rang out, Held noted the explosions from far further than he would have expected. Whatever Koorimaru had done, it seemed to have been effective, transferring the brunt of the energy to somewhere else on the battlefield.

"My thanks." The Nevadian said simply over the comm, turning his focus back to the base, increasing the size of his gait as he moved forwards.

He slowed, for a moment, as he noticed the large humanoid mecha that held the line behind him, blocking the others from advancing further. He gave thought to turning back, and aiding them in their battle against it, but thought better of it.

Stick to the plan, Held. They have a job to do, as do you...Still...I hope they can hold out.

"Remember. No heroes." He said between breathes.

He would entrust the rest of the battle to those still engaged in combat as he rushed to meet with the recon team, focusing his senses on the path before him. These raiders were certainly craftier than expected. Held half expected they would have motors, or some other ground trap waiting for the unprepared.

The levity was precisely what Zaofan would need to help loosen up for the big battle.

The two Familiars bowed their heads and proceeded into the crowd. The man gave Erosa and Zaofan one last look, smiled and faded into the crowd himself.
Who are they? Huh, I guess other folks are trying to analyze us just as much as we try to analyze the other fighters. Seems fair.

And with that, Zaofan paid no more mind to the familiars.

    She looks pissed.

Faster then she can see, the claws rake across Aha’rah’s chest and arms as the other claw slams Ishtar into the ground.
Again, Kevi reformed, now visibly agitated. Disappearing in a blur, she slashed Asha'rah across her chest and arms, the sickening sound of metal rending carrying through the lookout as claws of magical shadow penetrated her exterior. System warnings flared, sparks flying from ruptured circuits.

Even as Asha'rah reeled backwards, she unleashed a burst of golden aura across Kevi's arms. Before she was a monk, before she was a rebel and a usurper, she was a God of Creation. Wet chewing gum jmaterialized around Kevi's arms and claws. The gum fouled up fine movement, and buried the edges of her claws under a pile of sticky goo. Having rendered her opponent's weapons temporarily useless, Asha'rah stepped in and grabbed Kevi by her long hair, forcing her head back so Asha'rah could slam a knifehand down her inner throat.

"Bask in the light of creation." Asha'rah said. Her voice, while breezy and melodious as it usually was, carried a darker undertone.

Golden light filled Kevi's insides, this time manifesting concrete. The heavy grey mixture poured into Kevi like a ruptured pipe, filling her lungs, bursting her belly and creeping into every space it could reach till it began to dribble past her eye sockets. More importantly, it gave Asha'rah a chance to test a suspicion - Kevi's level of regeneration suggested even this body of hers was but a manifestation. If there was a core of ki within Kevi's body, some hidden bit of her she kept concealed, then Asha'rah would entrap it and force Kevi to reveal it.

Second portal from the left is the one I'm choosing. Might be wise if we split into two groups and enter the same two portals respectively. But don't look like trying to all go through the same portal. Teleport casual.

Jack stepped through the portal he had chosen to wherever that led.

Thanks to his and Koorimaru's timely efforts, the transport they made their landing is functional, though several Raider bullets had punctured its outer hull and communication antennae.

The Mech's energy field absorbs the energy from Chou's telekinesis and the hammer is arrested where it is thrown at it, far short of its impact site.

The orbital generators scream as the field bursts outward and the hammer is sent straight back at Chou with twice the energy he'd thrown it with smashing him straight in the side.

It was clear that no one member of this team could take the Asset on their own.

"Hot! Hot!" Sasheem continued to shout as the ground below being heated also had the unfortunate side-effect of heating up Sasheem toilet which caused the Majin a great deal of pain. Using the propulsion technique that Kami had taught him, Sasheem attempted it with his one remaining arm, which was a bit awkward getting used to as it was on his back. Flying would be useful right now, but Sasheem, in this case, would find his advantage in rage.

It helped that the heated earth had given him an idea too. Sas he em fired a ki blast from his one arm at the ground to propel himself into the air. From there, above the mech he launched a blast of Venom Mist at the odd stop-sign shaped things that were beginning to make noise and charge energy.
The Venom Mist falls upon one of the orbital generators and nearly penetrates the plasma field surrounding it. The energy field is redirected about its frame directly upwards and it spreads the burden.

The Mech raises the metal shield within its field and flies upward, charging toward Sasheem.

Recoiling, Adam changes tactics. It moves towards the nearest enemy force, testing the machine's limits. If it was restricted from friendly fire it might be forced to change tactics.

His face got beaned horrendous bruising, blood poured, jaw smashed and teeth flew as he was sent to the ground. Twitches a bit before getting up. Snaps his jaw in place as he revere teeth and face repaired. Healing factor sucks. The pain and itching feeling of neurons going on and regrowing was a bitch as he spoke up.

“ I grow tired of this!!!”

As he then smashes two of his pearls, sparing third one as the fire on him blew off as his power spikes beyond normal limit, muscle growth as he decides to teleport, appears with the shield arm in a attempt to tear at it with his bare fucking hands.

“ Fuck you!” Was his mantra, all he was saying as his strikes at that damn arm, if there is a pilot. Fucking dead on. As he teleport blitzes striking at arms and chest area repeatly. The sheer pressure of his blows sound like thunder, many thunder claps in a row as his aura deflects poison cloud so no friendly fire. He.. was.. angry.

Edit: It should be noted all things that absorb energy, including kinetic does have limits and breaking points. Even vibranium can smash from over load. Keep that in mind when throwing bull shit technology in mix.

Just short of entering the main base propwer, a whistle in the air heralds a falling grenade behind him which arcs and impacts before Held, followed by the pulse of energy fire behind him.

Two figures head toward Held. On the left is the AT sniper that retreated earlier, discharging a propellant casing from a grenade launcher. On the right is the last armoured infantryman of the company taken apart by Sasheem and Chou.

His helmet destroyed, beneath the dull crackle of a repulsor field is a youthful face. He can't be any older than Totoma or Chou, but his visage looked like it was carved out of wood and his glassy eyes locked straight onto his target.

    "WG bastard! Suck on this!"

His arm twisted within the armour of his suit, he raises his rifle, grimaces and fires.

As did his decision to not fully engage with the support structure he had available after the battle with Jagam--the Cromwells. Ah, missed chances.

"...I really wish I'd taken advantage of the support system I had available after the Jagam battle," said Totoma. "Instead, I ended up... well, ya know. Not in the best shape, in any respect."

He paused. "Anyway, Maiz has agreed to relay what I know about Jagam to Mato, so he can begin organizing some sort of countermeasure. Not sure how much good it'll do, but I... would rather not have anyone else, even a pureblood, go through what I did--losing a parent and the torture. And... I'd like to see Mato's reforms succeed, and that won't be possible if Vacado is destroyed."

That could be taken care of after Sarada'd gotten the chance to catch up with Maiz and her relatives. Gave him more time to organize the info, too.
It was interesting to see, in hindsight, the results of two people standing at the same crossroads taking opposite paths. Sarada chose to embrace her support system, kind of, and ended up better because of it. Totoma chose to ignore his support system, somewhat, and ended up worse off. To think that they were in the same place at the same time was improbable. Only through divine intervention would two people like them actually meet.

Hearing that Maiz was going to relay information about Jagam to King Mato relieved some of the tension that had accumulated ever since she learned he was Rukka Naito. Only through a collaborative effort from Vocado and the Saiyan colonies would they be able to mount any kind of defense against that monster, but it was better than being ignorant and offering little resistance to the ensuing slaughter.

Now, they had a fighting chance, the best kind.

"Thank you," was all she said in reply.

Midori, dressed in her costume of choice and having small but powerful speakers hidden on it to blare her entrance music, walked toward the portal but stopped as a familiar voice called out to her.

Turning, she caught sight of Sonomaru running over to her, only to stop as he looked her over.

"Uh... why are you dressed like an anime character?" Sonomaru asked, and Midori gave a smile as she said "I needed an awesome outfit to fight in, and this felt like the best choice. Well, the best choice because the last time I wore the other one, my shirt exploded off."

"Alright." Sonomaru said with a nod as Midori asked "Was there something you needed?"

"Oh, right! I felt like you looked familiar when we met earlier, and I realized why! You're one of the 'Hero Sisters of Saito'!" Sonomaru said with a grin, one which Midori mirrored as she asked "You've been to Saito?"

"Yeah! Sensei and I traveled there for a bit, and I kept seeing all this merchandise of you and your sister and hearing tales of your actions!" he explained, and Midori grinned as she questioned "Did you see the action figure with 'dynamic punching action'?"

"I did! And I saw one with glowing eyes to simulate your eye beams." Sonomaru added, and Midori agreed "That was a cool one too."

"Though I was wondering, are you getting paid for that stuff?" Sonomaru asked, to which Midori nodded as she answered "Yeah, my creator and sister made sure our 'brand' or whatever it's called was protected and we get licensing fees for all that merch they make of us. Never much cared for that kind of thing personally, but it is nice to know that people can't slap my face on whatever and sell it to people."

Looking to the portal, Midori said "But I've gotta go and get into that portal before they decide to disqualify me for 'dawdling' or whatever. Maybe we can talk more later."

"I'd like that." Sonomaru said, and Midori smiled as she waved him goodbye and said "See you later, and good luck."

"You too." was his reply as they parted ways.

As she walked toward the portal, Midori slapped her face several times as she thought 'Gotta get into character: I'm a brave, noble hero. I'm a brave, noble hero.' After repeating the mantra mentally several more times, Midori took a deep breath, pushed a button on her belt to cause her chosen theme music to play, and stepped into the portal.

Shiro scowled as she moved in a wide semi-circle around Damask, aiming her finger at him and firing off a rapid-fire barrage of energy beams from it at him.

Damask is torn apart, but due to his connection to the ground, he heals almost as fast as the girls have destroyed him.

Meanwhile, Held has found the vault and the building it is in. He even manages to get inside. The vault is a massive slab of dark metal with a combination lock and biometric scanning.
