Superman has appeared on various forms of media outside of comics. But which type of Superman is the most powerful? This will be a composite cartoon Superman vs composite live action Superman. Who wins?

Live action has way crazier speed feats. Cartoon atleast smacked up Darkseid (animated though.) for a bit.
All Star Superman brings the cartoon Superman over the top. Nothing live has done can touch the feats in that movie.

And until one of the cartoon Supermen demonstrate the ability to turn back time, physical feats mean nothing because the live action Supermen can turn back time to when the cartoon Supermen were babies and slaughter them then.
It sure would, for the first few seconds that start the countdown for ring out, at which point, the live action composite superman starts re-winding time back. Then when the counting resumes, live action composite superman is back in the arena while cartoon composite superman fades from existence.
And yeah, that dangerous ability makes live action composite superman so much more powerful than cartoon composite superman. The ability to go turn time back and remake history far exceeds raw physical power.
The only chance cartoon composite Superman has to win this match is if someone can prove that he can fly faster than live action composite Superman and stop this from happening.

Time travel is broken in a lot of ways, but there are things that it can't really do much about, like Extinction level natural disasters, or attacks from people strong enough to keep you from being able to fly at full speed after their first hit. If you end up trapped in a room with a chunk of kryptonite, then you'd want to be a Superman with enough resistance to kryptonite to be able to break free, not a Superman who could travel back in time and keep the kryptonite from every landing on Earth in the first place, once you are able to stop rolling around on the floor in agony.

Ok, so live action Supes uses his speed advantage to manipulate cartoon Supes into throwing/punching him from the ring, at which point, he rewinds time while the timer for him to get himself back to the ring starts (that timer does exist).
Or live action Supes simply forfeits the original match and rewinds history and wins. Either way, cartoon Supes really is pretty much screwed.
....what?
"
07. Leaving the field: Combatants who leave the field of combat on purpose forfeit the match. If they are removed from the arena against their will (being punched, thrown, teleported, etc.) and can make it back under their own power, then they are still in the fight. Obviously, if a combatant leaves the field and cannot return under their own power, then they have lost.
08. Temporary incapacitation: Some characters are very difficult to permanently kill. As a general rule: If a character is present in the arena but rendered unable to fight for ten seconds (if he requires that long to regenerate for example), he is considered the loser by knock-out."
^ Rules. Where is this timer you mention?
Also pretttttty sure doing anything other than flying directly back to the arena would be against the rules also, even if not clearly stated. Message a mod if you are uncertain. In my opinion, using a ring out as an opportunity for Zod to sun dip, or Goku to charge a spirit bomb really goes against the spirit of things here. Likewise using it as an opportunity to make use of an extremely situational form of speed related time travel.
Alternatively, instead of trying to twist the rules and create all of these tiny loopholes, maybe its simpler saying that a power that requires massive distances and time to work up to just isn't all that useful in a gladiator arena that abides by strict rules? I mean, it's hardly the first time. Thor has this sweet God Blast that he can almost never utilize in the Arena because it takes too long to charge, whereas in a comic, he may give himself some distance etc or whatever to make it useful.
Again... what? If he forfeits, match over he loses under the rules. Its not like ToonSupes and LiveSupes proceed to shake hands, go to fictional LiveSupes Metropolis, THEN blatantly cheat and go muck with the match. He forfeits, he simply ceases to be.
This is like saying Flash beats Galactus because he forfeits, then rewinds time and kills whoever booked the fight in the first place. Its silly. The combatants don't wander off still capable of formulating strategies and deciding "nah I'm a sore loser". There is no "after the match". Fade to imagination nothingness.

We've always assumed a reasonable amount of time would be allowed for combatants thrown out of the ring. It seems reasonable to me that characters like Flash and Superman could use super speed to rewind time / time travel to effect combat before coming back at the exact second they start rewinding time / time traveling to go back to the ring.
I'll admit though, this is a grey area that I don't believe has been addressed.
That may be true and if a mod rules that this is so, then this is the ruling. I really don't mind if live action Supes isn't allowed to do this if the mods rule that a character must only use their abilities to travel back to the arena or forfeit the match. Also pretttttty sure doing anything other than flying directly back to the arena would be against the rules also, even if not clearly stated. Ok, so in the arena, live action Supes uses his superior speed (that same speed that allows him to rewind time) to pummel cartoon Supes to death. Speed does kill here in the arena. Cartoon supes might have the strength advantage, but if he can't hit live action Supes, it won't make a difference.Alternatively, instead of trying to twist the rules and create all of these tiny loopholes, maybe its simpler saying that a power that requires massive distances and time to work up to just isn't all that useful in a gladiator arena that abides by strict rules?
The assumption is that the people who get booted from the ring head back under their own power as quickly as they can. It doesn't matter if it takes 0.000 1 seconds (for Clark) or 5 days (for Juggernaut thrown halfway across the world).
However, there is no stopping on the way, using that to build up momentum for special attack, grabbing gear, whatever.
Basically, 'capable of coming back from getting hoofed out of Khazan' cannot be used as prep or a free 'out of ring' action.
Why are we here?
"Superboy Prime (the yelling guy if he needs clarification)..." - Postmania
"...dropping an orca whale made of fire on your enemies is a pretty strong opening move." - Nik
"Why throw punches when you can be making everyone around you sterile mutant corpses?" - Pendaran, regarding Dr. Fate
This strategy also seems to be built on the perspective that composite animated Superman is just going to sit and watch Live Action Superman turning back time and do nothing to stop him rather than say, tear his head off with his absurd All Star Superman strength.
