I guess people will assume she did now. Good for her.

What kind of evidence are people looking for from a strict comics code era? Really, if they were dating and kissed, it's plausible that more happened because we wouldn't know. I can't think of anything more obvious until John Byrne's Fantastic Four when Reed and Sue asked Johnny and Ben to go for a walk for an hour and we cut to the Richards in bed together an hour later (or in Teen Titans when Robin and Starfire kiss and they cut to an hour later and Dick doesn't have a shirt anymore).
Probably one of the best examples I can think of is Matt Murdock and Natasha Romanoff, who lived together and were dating, but they made it very clear that Matt shared a room with Ivan, not Natasha. But, despite protests to the contrary, it was clear their relationship was just a bit more.
I guess the question is how serious the relationship was, not whether we actually saw them banging on panel.

Ted appreciation when?
Never heard of him
X-Men: Grand Design, like yogaflame said, strongly implies that Jean's relationship with Ted became sexual. In the panel below, Jean is asleep and being prodded by Mastermind (who in this "retelling" encounters Jean much earlier in her life and before she ever becomes Phoenix) and Xavier tries to get through to her.
