He's a writer with strengths and weaknesses. He does really well in street level settings, or self contained continuities where the only writer he can contradict is himself. Which he still manages to do. But his Ultimate Spider-Man run is great, and his Dare Devil run was quite good.

He does much less well scaled up past that, which tends to magnify his flaws. Respecting continuity being one of the biggest.

Writing, like all forms of art is subjective. Some people are going to like him and others not. There are some objective things like respect for continuity that you could ding him for, but ultimately it will come down to you liking his writing or disliking it. Ultimate Spider-Man is probably a good thing to check out to see if you dig his work. Try it. If you like it, consume more. If you don't like it, look for something else.
