Kitty and Lockheed are definitely the types of characters who can be introduced in a film and then get a Disney+ mini series to themselves, battling Brood or ninjas or something.

I was a fan of Ex Machina and The West Wing so maybe she should run for political office? Tackle mutant politics head on? She ends becoming a congressman in one of the alternate futures.

Of all possible character we are getting a Kitty Pryde solo movie?

To say i'm surprised is a bit of an understatement. But well, why not right? If the movie is any good.

Peep the thread, this movie and all the other Fox X-Men spinoffs were cancelled

With only three movies a year don't expect any mutants other then wolverine to get a film. (unlike comcast who was going to keep fox running as it was but yeah wolverine can be in avengers 12 so cheer.)

Crap. Guess we all knew this was coming, but I was really hoping that that X-23 movie would get through.
Doctor Strange: "You are the right person to replace Logan."
X-23: "I know there are people who disapprove... Guys on the Internet mainly."

That is the catch 22 of most of the X-Men though. Sure they have been around for a long time, but for the most part none of them really have lives outside of being X-Men. Wolverine, Longshot, and Gambit are really the only ones and that is because they were older when they joined the X-Men so they had some history outside of the team to build on. Most of the X-Men came to the team when they were young so they really didn't have a lot going on before they got there, and since most never leave they never have the chance to build up their own lives seperate from the team. Even when they do try something different and give them a little life outside of the team it seems like it never matters, and they are soon back on the team again.

They have tried to give some characters lives outside of of the team to mixed results over the years. Really they have tried the most with Storm and Kitty, but again it seems like all of their solo stuff is shoved in the closet and forgotten as soon as they are back as X-Men. Kitty had a few interesting takes like her time in Excaliber and mini series like Kitty Pryde and Wolverine, Kitty Pryde: Agent of SHIELD, and Mechanix. The problem is they never really do anything with them afterwards.

Well when blade and men in black came out people were going "blade can't have a movie. He is a z rate hero no one knows". Wizards toyfare even did a joke making fun of how "blade deserves a movie about as much as devil dino!" Men in black was a failed three issue black and white comic so how can it be a movie series or even a cartoon? They both were huge hits. Non comic fans didn't care about the comics in fact most didn't know they were based on comics!

A good writer can make a good movie with any hero. Venom is a spidey bad guy but spidey had nothing to do with his movie and it was a hit.(like the film or not the film did well) Look at gotg and you can see they can turn any hero into a good movie if done right.

Which is what people are saying. You have to basically have a writer write an original story and just make Kitty and Lockgeed the main characters. There really nothing to pull from without using other Xmen. Blade had plenty to pull from but honestly they kinda just did that made an original Vampire movie but made a comicbook character the central character. Guardians had plenty to pull from aswell though again they kinda just wrote an original story not heavily based on a certain comic event. MiB was basically hey that a cool idea let's make a movie out of it. Never read the comic but I assume the movie did it's own thing. You can definelty do that with Kitty but there are so many more xmen who have history and charm to pull from more so then Kitty. But you can for sure make any character work with a good writer.
