You are right, so many to choose from.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:
Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.
There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

For some reason, the forum is scaling down my image.

"I should describe my known nature as tripartite, my interests consisting of three parallel and disassociated groups; a) love of the strange and the fantastic, b) love of abstract truth and scientific logic, c) love of the ancient and the permanent. Sundry combinations of these strains will probably account for my...odd tastes, and eccentricities."
It's likely not the forums but the site hosting the pic. Many sites do this to discourage hotlinking because they are paying for the bandwidth you are using to display the picture here and they get nothing out of it, so when people hotlink from them, they reduce the size of the pic and thus the amount of bandwidth it uses. Some sites prevent hotlinking at all, some do this to make it not worth your while.

Comic fans get the comics their buying habits deserve.
