I think it has to do with a secondary mutation! She can absorb and convert nuclear radiation now, or something like that. I didn't actually read the book she was in beyond a few issues to understand how she got back, and then she was out of it for a while so I dropped it and never picked it back up.

I don't think that the Necrosha survivors are part phalanx! Cypher is one too, and he hasn't been shown to be techno-organic in any way.

Regarding Cypher though... in his case it's actually explained, in that he used his Decyphering super-coding powers to actually force the phalanx-virus into submission - he reprogrammed it, similar to what he did with the MAGUS in the New Mutants first fight with that T.O-entity.

And since Negasonic doesn't have that ability (in fact, I believe Cypher is the only one in the entire MU who has ever done such a thing)... She should still be a T.O being - at the very least something similar to Cable.

Obviously, if she isn't SHOWN to be such, then she isn't - so, this may be a plot-hole.
