Key thing here is how close the subject and the parent's friend are, mate. In Rachel's case, she was raised with a Kurt and a Kitty who were like uncle/aunt to her. If Laura had been raised in the same way with OG Warren, then we could compare both examples.

Not saying Laura/Warren is a pairing I like.

The thing that really seals the creepiness of the Rachel/Kurt pairing is that it reminds me of another creepy shit. You see, here in Brazil we had a telenovela (back in 2001, I think) where the main pair was a girl and her godfather. The guy was supposed to be at least 30 years older and he helped take care of her when her parents died. The moment she became 18 in the story, they banged. I couldn't place it before, but everytime I see Kurt and Rachel together I'm reminded of this now. It's just too weird.
