Superman's Red Trunks Return in Action #1000

Recently, I purchased on ebay, both versions of the promo red trunks (the boxer short and the brief) which feature the words on the end "#THE TRUNKS ARE BACK".

The trunks worked back in the 30s, today it's just underwear outside the pants, silly, and not fun silly but embarrassing silly.

I was expecting a lot of comments that Batman and WW look good with them back. Seems social media is the crowd that does not care for them even on Superman.

Its not a select few that dislike the trunks. And its not a select few that like them. This is a quintessential example of a divided, mixed opinion on a topic. Its silly to try and claim your side is a majority, wherever you personally land.

One could argue that only a select few wear spandex and/or capes with all 3 primary colors. So on that merit, it actually works.

The fact that people have been buying Superman comics, watching Superman cartoon shorts, watching Superman movie serials, watching Superman B pictures, watching Superman TV shows, watching superman cartoon shows, watching Superman musicals, and watching Superman major Motion Pictures - all featuring the trunks - for the better part of a century proves that it's only a select few that dislike the trunks or the character would not have caught on. Nobody was turned away from the character because he was wearing trunks yet many fans like myself were turned away from the character, the comics and the movies because they altered his image.

When I was a kid... I never imaginated that some people were against Superman trunks.. I saw the trunks like the cape, part of Superman costume.

That is Exactly how I see it, as just part of the costume, no more - no less than the boots or cape.

The trunks are a piece a the puzzle that fits nicely into the fabric of the whole ensemble of Superman's outfit, and helps in completing the over all look!
