I don't think Eclipso would have been the host for the Spectre, unless it was maybe a case where Eclipso briefly took over the Spectre. That's not quite the same thing, though.

Trying to do a correct update of the numbers:

    * Hal Jordan (Silver Age Green Lantern) = 5 votes (+1)

Doesn't matter if it was new or a reprint.

The question was "Who was the first host to "Spectre" from DC comics you ever read about?"

A few more votes since the last update:
    * Jim Corrigan (Golden Age Spectre) = 62 votes (+3)
    * Hal Jordan (Silver Age Green Lantern) = 5 votes (no change)
    * Nobody (The Spectre unconnected to a "host body") = 3 votes (no change)
    * Crispus Allen (former Gotham City police detective) = 2 votes (no change)

And geoffpayne1992 voted "other", but I don't think it was ever explained what was meant by that vote?

Was there a real life Jim or Jimmy Corrigan after which all the fictional Corrigans were named?

Jim Corrigan, I tend to take a lot of breaks and jump around in my comic reading. So I was kinda confused when I saw some other people at first. :P

Jim Corrigan. I'm not that familiar with Crispus Allen and Hal as The Spectre was just weird. The Mxyzptlk Injustice thing was interesting though.

Jim Corrigan. Thanks to John Ostrander's Spectre run and his appearances in JSA.

Having to depend on random comics was so weird when I was a kid. I swear if someone asked if I wanted to live in America in the 90s, I would've said yea cuz I want them comics.

But anyway Hal was my first encounter with the Spectre. It was a Superman comic where the Alpha Centurion was involved too so if someone can track it down for me I'll be grateful (with a No Prize). As for why it was weird its because later on I got some Zero Hour comics, I was like "the bad guy is the Spectre?"
