Spam Bots

There seems to be more spam bots lurking in the forums for the past few days than usual. They usually pop up once every few months but now they're like roaches in that you get rid of one then more will come after.

You are severely underestimating how often they pop up. It happens multiple times on a daily basis. Sometimes we catch them before they make it to the forums, sometimes we don't.

Does reporting the advertising messages help in any way, or do the mods get to it, when they get to it? I hope that makes sense?

Reporting spam always helps, it's the quickest way to bring it to our attention. If you can still see it and the spammer is not banned, assume we haven't noticed it yet.
