Given the prototype for the suit had them, I'm guessing they're part of the suit.

I'm not saying it had the same plot just that it doesn't seem to be adding or evolved from the first movie I may be totally worng and it may be totally different but just going off the teaser it looks like more of the same witch may not be a bad thing if it works don't try to fix it. The building Hank shrinks in the trailer looks to be this movies McGuffin. Hank, Ghost and Burch are all in possession of it at some point.
