Well the supersons series may have been guilty of doing it first but he could have chosen to end their association albeit temporarily by Jon going to the future after their meeting without dragging Damian along with him. It is just going to lead to further humiliation for Damian. Bet Damian loses his temper and tries to fight the team and jon has to restrain him lest he gets his butt kicked by the Legion which results in him getting rejected and throwing a tantrum to showcase jons new found maturity.

Yeeeeeeeeah I'm usually the first one to say Super Sons didn't make either of the boys look bad for the sake of the other, but....Bendis has such a gross misunderstanding of Damian as a character that I wouldn't be shocked if the whole point of him being in Legion is just to make Jon look better.

has anyone besides Damain even cared about where Jon has been? Even his god parent Perry never asks about him apparently, unless these are things that happen off panel.

They made a big issue out of lois taking the kid and leaving clark during the start of the run. Other than that, nothing. Jon just started his new school in Metropolis. His friends back at Hamilton are forgotten.

I just don't understand why jon kent "superman" is called 5th generation. if other earlier incarnations/generations of the character "superman" isn't even going to be a thing.

It’s only been 3 weeks, not really that long to not see a coworkers kid. Trish did mention she heard Lois took him when she left. So it could be assumed he’s with her in Chicago. Perry knew Clark didn’t want to talk about it in the beginning as well so he may not have brought it up.

Just had a depressing thought today. I remember back when Bendis first arrived I had the foolish believe that we were actually getting back to Superman-oriented stuff. First few months it even really appeared that way. Superman was really being put and center. Fast forward to today, we have Superman losing his Legion connection all over again, and know that he's going to be outright replaced as Superman. I mean goddamn I pretty much hated Rebirth, but they never went that far. Total be careful what you wish for situation.

its likely we will get a Superman book set in another generation still though. I honestly hope we get a gen 2 Superman origin story, just so right off the bat we have a definitive origin and don’t have to play the guessing game again.

It could very well be Didio's plan to essentially revive the New52, but having a series of books focused on the big seven in the beginning of Gen II before all the sidekicks and marriages came into play. Who knows? If the legacy books fail, it could allow Didio to go, "See, people prefer these heroes when they are younger, unattached, and angsty."
    Currently Reading:

DC: The Flash, Challenge of the Super Sons, Nightwing

Image: Lazarus: Risen, The Old Guard, Black Magick

    Boom: Mighty Morphin', Power Rangers

Yeah, but I'm not big on the idea of the real characters being boxed into a certain time period. Period piece stories for Superman would be cool, same as WWII stories for Wonder Woman for example, but realizing that's all you can get in a canon, stuff set in the past, the shine rather wears off. At least for me.

Being boxed in like that would be sorta limiting though, I mean, I don't really see the point to that over just doing another reality if that's the aim. It doesn't make the main continuity easier to understand. If anything it has the potential to make things more odd.

And that timeline. 3 weeks could be going to see some relatives or family members out of town. But the way everyone acted, it was more like 3 months.

Folks wondered if it'll ever addressed:

So how is everyone at the Daily Planet and Jon Kent’s teachers going to react to the 10 year old becoming a 17 year old in like 2 weeks?

The last time Bendis told us to wait for a character's response to new Jon, we got the trainwreck that was #16. Whatever we get in 18, expect it to make very little sense and be painfully out of character for everyone involved.

Is there even a reason to care? There's no investment in these other relationships because these relationships don't even exist. They didn't exist when he was ten, they don't exist now, so its pretty much whatever.

He definitely had relationship with some of the kids at the new school he started going to in metropolis. Also had a few scenes with the daily planet staff.
