No, keep the Kents alive. Drop the stupid trunks. Deage Jon. And of course the identity becomes secret again.
Secret identity going back this time might take a bit more than even fixing the Jon bullshit. Thing is Bendis went out of his way to make losing the secret identity look like a good thing with almost entirely positive effect on Clark's life. If you're going to put the genie back in the bottle, you'd have to reestablish stakes. Easiest way to do that unfortunately is fridging someone. Look at how Peter Parker only got reversed because May was shot, Or Wally West getting Hal to reverse it because Zolomon killed his children.
Like if they reverse it right now, readers will just think "why is he putting up a charade again? seemed like he had nothing to fear by saying the truth?"

"So you've come to the end now alive but dead inside."
The Kents purpose is to Superman grounded as Clark.
No, alfred actually has a personality and purpose. He makes tea. Damn good tea. he's not there to shove moral platitudes to readers and batman himself. Superman himself doesn't needed it. You just proved my point. His planet went boom, time for the kent to take the same lead. That version never worked. It only made Clark's morality dependent on others be it sky father or earth father. Superman exists because of instinct and choices he made. Not what his parents made. Superman should be an orphan like naruto.
So what? Orphans can't "ground" themselves. Btw, i am an orphan myself.please

Having a good relationship with your parents and seeking out their wisdom and guidance as and adult doesn't make you a baby. Quite the contrary actually. It makes you a well adjusted adult, which there are far to few of in superhero fiction.
Having the Kents alive and having a good relationship with them makes him stand out from every other superhero who has dead parents. They can be overused, like anything else, but thats because of bad writing.
Many people don't have luxury. Moreover, superman needs pathos. He is the man who has "everything" . Meaning he has nothing. He is working class man with nothing but god given talent/strength which he honed, a pen, a paper and ideals. Kents are just there for fluff and drama. Nothing more or nothing less. Kents worked best only in that nail series where they took in orphan meta human kids and plastic man. Other than that, superman has jimmy, bibbo, turpin, sawyer,.. Etc. An entire cast full of people. He doesn't need to stand out. He just needs to feel like a guy worth rooting for. Superman had dead parents before any of them, anyways .
Yeah! Yeah! That can happen and be quickly skipped through like in the original origin story. It's boring, like the whole krypton backstory in man of steel.
All superman needs is
"doomed planet, desperate scientist,... Etc"

Since Geoff Johns brought the Kents back I would love for him to takeover Superman.
Problem is their advice is often painfully generic and is usually “Believe in yourself, follow your heart, etc” and that’s the kind of generic advice Clark should be giving Jon, not running to his parents to get. Plus I’d rather see Clark interacting with Lois and Perry and Jimmy for that kind of thing anyway.
