It'd be like invoking Captain Marvel, and saying, rules don't afford it, he's got to fight as Billy.
It hearkens back to his origin and purpose, how he reinvents himself, to survive, to never be that kid who was a victim of chaos in his streets, in his world, in his life, ever again, ... by absolutely being prepared.
If you are invoking these characters fighting at their apex, where is the legit scenario where you take that away from him?
