We've seen scenes like this before, but it's all in the execution. This was intense and executed well imo. The fact that her mom was willing to shoot her makes it even more twisted.

I think it was implied that the mom wasn't necessarily willing to shoot her child (very first narration box).

I think Trinary, Gentle, and Gambit’s headshots will be added to the recap page once we see how they joined. So Trinary and Gentle in #2 or #3 and Gambit in #3 or #4.
As for the preview itself: fucking finally! I’ve been digging Astonishing X-Men and Blue is good, but this looks to be on another level. An interesting cast that isn’t a rehash, a story that plays to the X-Men’s strengths, and Nightcrawler does something cool (the teleport to Searebro) and is written well!
