Surely the fighting skills of a GoD has something to do with their job, otherwise why would they get the training they do?

God Ki does require tons of martial arts skill to even use, much less master, and if Toppo is any indication, the Gods of Destruction might have all been mortals until they learned how to become Gods through their training. Not to mention that, on the off chance that their duty requires them to destroy a planet with a Golden Frieza level threat on it, being a Master fighter can be useful, but that's a super-ultra rare possibility, considering that Frieza was so strong even without training that he was shortlisted as a candidate to become Beerus' replacement.
