Batgirl - Barbara Gordon
Starfire - Koriand'r
SHOULD there be a Bea Appreciation Thread?
It is a page from the most recent Nightiwing issue. In it Bea is giving some impassioned speech to the local government about some shit and Dick is in the background with some thought boxes reflecting on how brave she is and how she is "stronger than 100 Nightwings". It was pretty groan inducing.
I thought maybe they were talking about Joker's Daughter being stronger than 100 Nightwings and I could sorta get that given Lobdell's reported fascination with the character. But mix-mistress Bea? What a joke. She has no idea what he is. She can't even say no to Wino Ric when he's wheedling free drinks out of her. I'm having visions of a flying Bea carrying giant beer kegs with her super-strength in her secret identity as BAR MAID (TM).
Ive been reading the new teen titans and danm Star and Dick were really victims of that time periods. Dick is real old fashioned yet at the same time very respectful. Aggressive yet also hesitant. The Marrige of state arc was roller coaster.
I completlty unsderstand starfire side and I beleive she did the right thing, but the actual marrige was hard t watch and the breakup a little hilarious.
Despite this, this has to me favorite arc of her, she so in her element inn space and i like her taking lead. It kinda makes me wanna read Justice LEAGUE Odddesy. However the return to earth was giving me some real ron weasly vibes, bigger thing are going on then what dick will think of you when he sees you again. I am hoping see starfire develop ambitions and wants beyond Dick in the further issues.
Now jsut when I can finally enjoy Raven being happy and having fun with the team she gonna play her hand at Dick too
I think that Dick put it VERY well when he pointed out to her that the Tamaranean "paradise" was paid for by HER suffering and she was too beaten down to stick up for herself. Of course--later on--Wolfman thought he could undo all the damage by having Kory go, "Oh, it was just a State than--we weren't really married," and then Dick goes, "Oh, Kory, why didn't you SAY so???!!!!" Oink! There should be nothing more important to young female comics characters than what Dick Grayson thinks of them.
So after near 300 issues I have come to find Kory did have another Love, one she married and was pregnated by Phy,
"Wow. You made Spider-Man sad, congratulations. I stabbed The Hulk last week"
Wolverine, Venom Annual # 1 (2018)
Nobody does it better by Jeff Loveness
"I am Thou, Thou Art I"
Persona
It was a Phantom Pregnancy.
Ooops--our little thread is slipping backwards a little--gotta put it back where it belongs!
