I need to thank Raffi fro the Hon mention as well. I knew my cover choice had no chance of getting a vote, and this theme was a tough one, but I kept my cover choice cause I thought it was in the spirit of the theme.

Though, if I had gotten to it first, I would have chosen the cover submitted by Chicken Pocket.

Congratulations Chicken Pocket! Your entry ticked all the right boxes. You even had a "brotha" for those who alternatively read the theme that way.

And also congratulations to MRP for being the "second" winner.

Also thanks to ChadH and seismic-2 for the votes for the Catman cover, and to Raffi for the hon. mention. (as well as for coming up with an intriguing theme!).

Looking forward to the new contest!
    You're very welcome Shalla Bal.

Tami, that was a fantastic and "brave" entry. I really did have trouble picking my personal winner.

    Good going, CP!

Thanks to whiteshark, MRP, and Scott Taylor for voting for my cover, too. I thought it had a chance to win and I wasn't disappointed.

I almost never pick my covers primarily to win a contest, Tami. Like you, I try to pick a cover that fits the theme - I also like to go for covers that you don't see all of the time.

Just noticed this thread... didn't want to compete -- just wanted to post one of my favorite covers for one of my favorite comics by one of my favorite artists, Barry Windsor-Smith.

So congratulations to Chicken Pocket. The marvelous cover he selected showed us the beginnings of a friendship that would end tragically with a regrettable lack of consequence. The Two-In-One series gave us a Ben Grimm who got along with the Marvel Universe echoing some of the Silver Age friendships DC excelled at.

As to what I've learned this week, the captain realizes that none of you are jumping on the Squirrel Girl bandwagon. That's OK, I can live with it. Just means more Doreen deliciousness for me. As to what it was that won this week, I really don't know. I suppose I should just try to pick out an artistically novel cover. "YES!" I can hear you screaming, "just pick a good cover and we'll vote for it." I shall have to dwell on this.

I urge you to reconsider entering these contests. And Windsor-Smith does have a talent for almost fragile detail combined with a display of power.

Hi aja_christopher. I see you also have a favourite cover.....comic.....artist.

Please feel free to take part in the cover contests. There's one going on right now with the theme of stained glass. Any fan of BWS is sure to have some intriguing entries
