Default Who should lead the Mutant Nation?

Recently the notion of a mutant nation was brought up again for the Xth time in X-Men Red, and seemed to be getting some political traction again within the U.N. But we’ve been down this road before, who among them really has the vision, the drive and the aptitude to really pull this off and make it work this time?

This poll is disgustingly biased, lol.

How about 'Former Xavier's Headmistress and Cosmic Overlord Jean Grey'? Seems fitting.

This is the ideal mutant nation leader. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

Good suggestion! I almost included her but I also remember Kitty being conceptually against the notion of a mutant nation at points during Genosha and Utopia so I wasn’t sure.

I'd say Storm should be the number 1 choice for a myriad of reasons. She's led the X-Men since the 80s. She convinced the UN to sanction her X-Treme X-Men team. She's literally been a head of state as Queen of Wakanda and thus would already have loads of political connections. Heck, every king or inner-dimensional ruler around has wanted Storm as her bride because of her beauty, strength of character, and regal/otherworldly carriage. Loki, Arkon, Dr. Doom, Khan, T'challa, etc have all wanted Ororo. She attracts rulers like a moth to a flame and she could sway them.

Heck, even Emma would be a better choice than Jean if you want to look at it. Emma would have a lot of political connections all over the world via her Hellfire Club days as the White Queen and she would already have successful business ties across the world through her companies.

Jean Grey no longer has the Phoenix Force, so the cosmic thing you bring up is not valid.

i'm willing to give jean a shot, but it's going to be difficult considering cassandra nova has made her public enemy #1

Fuck. I should’ve included Cassie in the poll.

hmmm, let me think about it

Jean is one of the first x-men, an integral part of the franchice most iconic stories, the heart and soul of the x-men. xavier's heiress and central part of the family. now she is starting a new era in mutan/human relationships. taking mutant kind on her shoulders.

emma on the other side, is crazy and obssesed with a man that probably didn't love her that much. a woman who has tried to kill the x-men many times and even with a giant push never became part of the family.

    i vote for jean

    La Reine, Storm!

Doom, Namor, Loki, Thor, Arkon, Khan, and T'Challa have already pledged their allegiance to the Goddess-Queen!

Jean would be the best choice today.

But every democracy and every good leader needs good counselors and sometimes even someone who thinks differently. Sometimes having someone like Emma or Magneto around that shows a different view may be better than just having friends you trust and who think just like you.
