Default Who should lead the Mutant Nation?

Recently the notion of a mutant nation was brought up again for the Xth time in X-Men Red, and seemed to be getting some political traction again within the U.N. But we’ve been down this road before, who among them really has the vision, the drive and the aptitude to really pull this off and make it work this time?

I thought about this one as well as the third choice after Ororo and Emma, but thought she was a little young and needed to grow older first. I could definitely get behind this choice, though, especially over who Marvel picked.

This poll is disgustingly biased, lol.

How about 'Former Xavier's Headmistress and Cosmic Overlord Jean Grey'? Seems fitting.

This is the ideal mutant nation leader. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

****. I should’ve included Cassie in the poll.

    Why not have multiple leaders?
Cable, Jean, Storm, Emma, and Magneto. If he gets brought back, maybe Cyclops too.

Good suggestion! I almost included her but I also remember Kitty being conceptually against the notion of a mutant nation at points during Genosha and Utopia so I wasn’t sure.

Jean Grey no longer has the Phoenix Force, so the cosmic thing you bring up is not valid.

And neither are the facts that Ororo used to be T'Challa's trophy wife, or that she used to be the Chairman of the XSE, or that Emma used to be a head of state during a fascist regime or that she used to be the CEO of Frost Enterprises.

    Used to died.

Thing is, Storm would still have her ties and friendships to world leaders from her days as queen as she had them even before she got married. Her queens hip would have only deepened and expanded such ties which she would have had and she would have kept them even after the dicorce...especially seeing how she and Panther are getting on now.

Emma would also still have strong political ties while Jean has never had any.

hmmm, let me think about it

Jean is one of the first x-men, an integral part of the franchice most iconic stories, the heart and soul of the x-men. xavier's heiress and central part of the family. now she is starting a new era in mutan/human relationships. taking mutant kind on her shoulders.

emma on the other side, is crazy and obssesed with a man that probably didn't love her that much. a woman who has tried to kill the x-men many times and even with a giant push never became part of the family.

    i vote for jean
