Is your list just a collection of facts, or a list that shows what you personally like?

BND on the verge of being reversed? Where did you read that?

I find it odd that you use a Fantastic Four emblem for an avatar but seem to have a grudge against the Inhumans. I don't blame the characters for corporate decisions. Rather silly don't you think?

The 90's were time of mostly bad taste and comic industry self destruction though.

This is less a list of things that mark a "return to greatness" and more a list of "they're bringing back stuff I like."

Given the cyclical nature of comics, that's bound to happen for every fan eventually - including those fans who have found the previous 18 years to be great.

As for BND being "on the verge of being reversed," I think you mean OMD but either way, don't expect that to happen.

No comic fan who lived through the '90s as an adult would ever celebrate its return in any way. What a dire time, with the occasional glimmer of quality.

No line wide relaunch on deck for May, I'd say, although May and the rest of the spring/summer should be huge months for Marvel in other ways.

The 90s were pretty dull for the Fantastic Four... I also doubt that they will be back this year the way things are going.

The X-Men don't seem to be any better besides Jean's return.

I'd be pretty surprised if they weren't back this year. Marvel Two-In-One is such a set up for them coming back, I don't think Marvel will put that pay off on hold for too long.

    Ah, blind nostalgia.

I am not dreading this. But, I would be lying if I said that I was an interested in Marvel as I was 2 or 3 years ago. (My interest was unusually high at that point.) On the other hand, I am more interested in what is coming up than I have been in the last year.

Marvel is making a hard push to make things the way they were ~1990.

I have heard the rumor. Not sure about how true it is.

    Yup.

The trick was to follow creative teams and stick with secondary titles. When Marvel went sour in the early 90s, I jumped to DC. And, of course, I jumped between titles. (I still do this, and it works pretty well.) But, people who were dogmatic about specific titles or characters had a much worse time.
Current pull-file: Batman the Detective, Batman: Legends of the Dark Knight, Marvel Dark Ages, Nightwing, Superman Son of Kal-El, Transformers, Transformers: King Grimlock, Warhammer 40,000 Sisters of Battle

To me it feels like the climax of the story will be that Ben and will get a hint of where Reed and Sue are, but they won't be back until 2019. It really feels like 2-in-One is to pacify fans rather than bringing back the team at the end of it, but don't get me wrong the book is really good. This year is bringing back lots of characters and I think the team coming back around this time will take away from their return.

You just know theres going to be a special moment when it all falls into place and the big re launch happens in may.
Please remember that in the 90s:

    1. Tony Stark was killed off and replaced by a teen version.
    2. At different times, Captain America was a werewolf, cross dresser, wore a suit of powered armor, and worst of all was redesigned by Rob Liefeld.
    3. Peter Parker was the clone and lost his powers while Ben Reilly was the one true Spider-Man.
    4. X-Men were treated with such respect that the Chris Claremont and Louise Simonson were pushed out in favor of the artists who left less than 2 years later.
    5. The Fantastic Four had Reed Richards and Dr. Doom killed, with Ant Man leading the team in Reed's absence.
    6. Marvel bankrupt.
    7. Had writers like Howard Mackie and Terry Kavanaugh on their high profile titles.
    8. Howard Mackie and Terry Kavanaugh were main writers for Spider-Man. I really can't stress that enough.
    9. Avengers had multiple books. When they went down to one book, we got the Crossing.
    10. A Guardians of the Galaxy title. Why is cancelling Guardians a good thing? Should the Abnett/Lanning run have been cancelled too?
    11. Multiple X-Men main and supporting characters being forgotten in a rush to showcase "hot" characters like Gambit.
    12. Wolverine losing his adamantium and devolving into a dog person.
    13. Cable dying in the Executioner's Song.
    14. Introducing the Maestro, a Bruce Banner/Hulk who is evil.
    15. Thor being replaced by Eric Masterson
    16. The Spider-Man line being bogged down by a storyline most readers hated that lasted for YEARS
    17. Long running titles like X-Factor and Excalibur see a revolving door of increasingly worse writers until they are cancelled.
    18. The Inhumans moving from the moon to the Earth so they can be a bigger part of the MU.

May the dark days of the 90s never return.

Dunno if ironic by the choice of decade, 90's Marvel was largely terrible outside of Busiek and PAD titles.

IMO some of the better stuff from Marvel in the 1990s was from the 2099 line, like Doom 2099 or Spider-Man 2099

Tony Stark is back - yet, he'll still be RDJ Tony Stark and not the 90's version.
Captain America is not a nazi - OK. I just hope he doesn't armor up.
Peter Parker is not Stark lite - And, once more , he's not allowed to grow up.
X-men finally being treated with respect - ARE they? I still think they're a mess. O5 are still around and most teams seem to be having a tough time finding a lasting direction
Fantastic four on the verge of a return - I'll believe it when I see it.
Disney buying fox has saved mutants - Juri is still out.
Bendis is gone - I'd be much happier if I wasn't enjoying the current Superman run.
Slott is off Spider-man - I liked his run, but I'll agree he stayed a long time. Give someone else a shot.
Avengers is just 1 book and interesting - I'll reserve my opinion untill I see what will come out of No Surrender (which seems to be good).
Guardians is cancelled - I'd prefered if they had someone good at the helm, and if they'd ignore the movie.
Rogue and gambit in the spotlight - Means didly-do to me.
Jean Grey is back - I'd rather she stayed dead and they'd brought back the real Cyclops.
Wolverine is back - See comment above.
Cable is back - See comment above.
Bruce banner is back - Still haven't seen what they are going to do with him. Are they going to keep Banner and Cho as Hulks?
Thor is coming back - I always knew he would.
BND on the verge of being reversed - I'll believe it when I see it.
Mutants are back - I'll believe it when I see it.
Inhumans are done - This, I'm good with.

What a time to be alive! the 90s are back baby!
No they're not. Styles have changed. Creators have changed. Audiences have changed. (and I'm someone who largely enjoyed the 90's).

    Peace
