Which superheroes could do Batman's job?

In post Zero Hour pre New52 comic, at one point they revealed Batman had learned some technique taught to him by Tibeten monks or something that had adapted his body so he only needed 3 to four hours of sleep to be fully rested. Always thought that was kinda lame myself, but there ya' go.

Eh, it's comics. Definitely sounds like a throwaway line a random writer threw in there though.

I remember reading something about how the human body works best when we sleep for like 1-2 hours for every 6 that we're awake, right there and then, not at the end of the day like most people do. Which is one of the reasons that mid-day naps are really good for the body. Batman can actually use this technique as he can actually use it.

Well they don't have to be as good as him just a decent replacement going by what the op posted. You really think bats rogues would just roll over Green Arrow? I'm not so sure.

Even without his powers the Shadow should be able to do this. Besides, he's supposed to be an expert in misdirection rather than having psionic invisibility depending on the source. So he should be able to pull off all the Batman stuff- maybe a little less tech saavy as he's a 1930's character, but his willingness to gun someone down should make up for that.

How does his willingness to gun people down make up for total lack of peak-human stats or his comparative lack of intelligence and planning feats or his lack of options considering he won't be using any gadgets or technology very effectively? Especially considering none of his opponents will be surprised by a gun.

And it's not even a big gun. =/

So, as far as anything you've said, lacking Batman's intellect, physicality, detective skills, the powers that most sources give him, an unfamiliarity with the tech at his disposal and any number of other things, he'll nevertheless pull this off because he kills people and can do some misdirection, is what your argument boils down to.

People seem to not understand that Batman does his job just fine because he can break people's bones and put them into a coma without killing them, or hit them with a batarang and fracture their skull. Just because he's non lethal doesn't mean batman doesn't incapacitate mooks with extreme force and efficiency. It just means he works with a slightly different toolset (and often better). And needless to say he is far more effective than even a real world special forces soldier decked out with a ton of equipment.

They would not be even a decent replacement as far as having to deal with villains beyond their capacity.

Except for the Joker breaking out and spree killing every other issue, yeah Batman is doing fine. A real life cop/special forces would've buried Joker a long time ago.
