Everybody's got their favourites.
I don't think anyone can deny Rogue is a great X-Man.

And *sigh* even Bishop I can see arguments for.
There's been precisely one great X-Man since Bishop, and that's Rockslide!

If you consider Kitty a "great" X-man......I think your views are already skewed as hell.
Who's sage BTW?
Ah, I understand what you mean. If that's the case I would say Gambit or Cable was the last. Technically Emma was created WAY before she joined the X-Men, so that's sort of a caveat. Bishop might not be considered great, but I don't think most can deny that Gambit or Cable, not sure which came first, was the last. And Cable may be more known for offshoot groups but he was an official X-Man for a time (early 2000s)
Emma Frost!

Newest one I REALLY care about is Laura Kinney. How recent that is by comic standards I couldn't say, but pretty decent.
OP is probably not Guggenheim but kinda sounds like him?
Almost all of them. Monet, Jubes, Rogue, Xmen-era Psylocke, Danger, Bishop and the list goes on. The best X-Team is X-Men Blue 1991 with Gold occupying the #2 spot. I enjoyed Gillen's and Bunn's team too amd Soule's Astonishing has a solid cast. Neither had/have Pryde on them.
