Johnny is not being a selfish ******* needing Miguel and Robby to get along. The baby is going to make them family. Those two will be seeing a lot of each other whether they like it or not. It's to everyone benefit they find even ground and work out their issues. I don't know how you think Robby side was ignored as he got expelled and did a stunt in juvie for his role in the brawl. He paid his dues. Carmen reluctantly accepted Robby. She clearly looked uneasy when she saw him. As someone who's gotten into fights with people and having them become friends, none of that felt ooc or odd to me. Sometimes a guy just need to fight it out to get over their issues.

Johnny makes them get along even though they naturally don't want anything to do with each other because it will make things easier for him. The baby is just a plot device to speed things along instead of taking the time to build up to a joined family organically. Robby's issues are years of neglect and abuse, he needs his dad's full attention to heal, but he can't get it if Johnny's attention is divided between him and Miguel and now the baby. It's a family where he will continue to be an afterthought, because no way does Carmen actually want him around. And Johnny doesn't give any indication he will fight for Robby's place in the family if things get tense. So Robby will have to be a people pleaser if he wants to be accepted. Robby's side is ignored because he is treated as the only bad guy in the school fight. Miguel being the one to attack him is rarely brought up. Johnny accuses Robby of starting fights even though he almost never does, and straight up told Robby in season 4 that he didn't care what actually happened. Robby has no future now because of that event. He of course bears a lot of responsibility for that himself, but Miguel was the one who wanted a fight that day, not him. In the fights you got into, were you forced to become family afterwards, with all the loaded baggage that came with your dad neglecting you your whole life and replacing you with the other guy?Robby grudgingly coming to respect Miguel is one thing, being friends and being excited about his next replacement is ooc

Johnny spend the entire series trying to reconnect with Robby with mixed results. Even if the baby wasn't in play Robby and Miguel will need to co-exist as they share the same father. Johnny wasn't going to chose one or the other. Given how Johnny has zero experience at taking care of babies he will likely call on Robby to help him take care of his brother and giving them more time to bond. I disagree with Robby having no future. He patched things up with Daniel so I imagine he can have his job back at the dealership if he asked for it. He's more qualified to work there than Daniels cousin.
