Looking to buy and read Infinite Crisis. From the wikipedia page I see that there are these collections:

What makes sense to buy from this list and what is expendable/ overlaps etc?

Go for the omnibus!

It's pricey, but worth it. Everything is in reading order, which makes for a better experience.

There is a new reprint edition of the omnibus coming out in June I think. It will cost you around $75. I recommend waiting for that.

Infinite Crisis sucked, as far as I'm concerned, but there was some pretty great stuff in the leadup - and some that came after it.

You don't actually need anything else to understand/ enjoy Infinite Crisis, though. It was ultimately pretty standalone and only used the lead-in series sparingly.

As an aside, Ollie's Bargain Outlet(yeah, I had never heard of it before either but there was one within 7 miles of my house) is doing a DC graphic novel buy-out(basically closing out old stock) with at least 85% off, so I got Villains United and Infinite Crisis Companion for $2.99 each.

The one near my house had at least 100 different graphic novels from which to pick!
