I'm done. What a disappointment. No monthly book will feature Janet. Of course.
Does get points for She-Hulk being on the roster at least. The rest of the roster's alright. The big 3 of Cap/IM/Thor is a given, and Black Panther being on here will no doubt ride high on the success of the film. Carol is no surprise, and Ghost Rider and Doctor Strange seem like the odd ones out for me.
Looks like I will be reading the Avengers again
We need better comics
"Who wouldn't go out with the Black Widow? I'd strangle a litter of kittens for one dinner with her!"
Adrian Toomes aka the Vulture
"Natasha Romanoff, A.K.A. Black Widow - ex-KGB, formerly with S.H.I.E.L.D...Probably the brains of this operation.I have followed her career, and she has been consistently UNDERRATED."
I'm happy to see the Big3 together again. After that, the cast doesn't do much for me. The fact that this is the only Avengers title moving forward signifies a bit of streamlining to me.. which I think is good. ONE book though?
Not even touching it with a ten feet pole.
Lineup looks pretty good, but why the hell do we have to have Avengers 1,000,000 included in the stories? Make a separate title for these losers if you have to, I'm really not interested.
"We live in a world of cowards. We live in a world full of small minds who are afraid. We are ruled by those who refuse to risk anything of their own. Who guard their over bloated paucities of power with money. With false reasoning. With measured hesitance. With prideful, recalcitrant inaction. With hateful invective. With weapons. F@#K these selfish fools and their prevailing world order." Tony Stark
Looks like I'll be dropping Avenger post No Surrender.
Same here. First time since Hickman.
I like the roster. If I were going to do a tight lineup of the biggest names and best heroes, sorta "Justice League Big 7" style, this is the kind of roster I would pick. Except for the Rider, obviously. But you gotta have that odd man out.
Plus Aaron has been killing it with Thor. I wasn't impressed with his Dr. Strange, and he's pushed the "Jane is a better Thor than Thor!" idea too hard lately, but overall I've enjoyed his work so this definitely gets a couple issues.
"We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe."
~ Black Panther.
It's a rather amusing snapshot of how much Marvel's character notoriety levels changed since 2005. Bendis pitched New Avengers as an Avengers book that would finally be a true Justice League counterpart because it ditched the B and C-listers in favor of characters like Wolverine and Spider-Man. Now we're at a point where many of the characters he dropped from the book when he took over (Black Panther, Scott Lang, Vision, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Falcon and others) are much higher up in the food chain thanks to the movies.
Yes to the Big3. It's nice to see T'Challa and Robbie in this. I might actually buy this since I'm a fan of at least five of the eight characters.
