I'll confess I've never heard the term Ash Can edition.

I'm really looking forward to this series. I'll be interested to hear the opinions of those who pick this up.

I picked this up and read it on the train back, so my memory is a little fuzzy. Will have to read it again to provide more details but I remember enjoying it - I love the premise of a farm growing human body parts and it seems like the perfect followup story to something like Chew.

Regarding what an ashcan is, it can vary but it's usually just an incomplete version of the comic, and usually physically smaller in size. In this case, I believe Rob said it was roughly half the issue, and everything seemed completed and colored/lettered in this first half as far as I could tell.

Funnily, I got the ashcan from John Layman, who accidentally signed it and had to go back and add "NOT created by" before his name.
