Yes we need more safe nonthreatening entertainment...how fun.
Ever hear of the term if you don't like it turn it off.

um not really...as a 35 year old bi racial man who grew up getting s**t for being biracial, I tend to not go that route if I want to insult someone
you can be "edgy" and not be a racist bigot
go watch some Bill Hicks or George Carlin
O&A always sucked and the only reason for their existence was to get mocked by Howard Stern. Looks like your precious free market spoke up and said "Sorry, racist idiots aren't bringing in ad revenue so there goes your job." He dates a seventeen year old, he's a hatemonger, and he has no sense of humor the minute his BS is thrown right back at him. F' Anthony Cumia.
I'm a fan, I disagree with his firing.
good luck with trying to have a rational debate about it online.

I agree.
If only because, in nearly every case I've seen, Opie and Anthony fans are incapable of having a rational debate. It usually breaks down to:
* WAAAAAAH PC POLICE
* WHAT ABOUT FREEDOM OF SPEECH?
* HE JUST SAID WHAT EVERYBODY THINKS ANYWAY
And so on. The first is whining. The second is not applicable. And the third is wrong.

Not a first amendment issue, at all.
The government didn't prosecute or attempt to censor what the tone-deaf moron said.
Private companies, however, have the option of not wanting to associate with someone that is, at the very least, a very disturbed individual with anger management issue.
I'm only surprised that Cumia lasted as long as he did.
I would have thought that 2002 "sex in the church" fiasco that got every one of the affiliates that played that day's O&A show fined by the FCC would have done it for both of them.
Say what you will about Howard Stern, he never got the affllates fined.
Stern did rack up some fines for NBC early in his career, IIRC
