Default X-Men Black, will it be successful?

Okay, this has been on my mind for a week now, so see what you people think.

The Black Panther movie is a big success and praised that it has a cast with mostly Black characters.

What if the speculated X-Men Black would really be how it sounds, with black cast members only. To avoid discussion, on what is black, lets us say black people with African origins.

Oh, and lets not make this thread a race discussion, let's keep it on topic.

    Looking at the (former) black X-Men, this team should/could be;

    Storm
    Bishop
    Bling!
    Prodigy
    Frenzy
    Darwin
    Cecilia Reyes

Would a title with this cast sell? Would you buy it?

Tell me how you'd feel about this title with this cast.

Marvel is not going to create a book with an all black cast and call it Black. Just not going to happen and they shouldnt. They'd be better off just naming it X-men

Yes. In fact Marvel’s more likely to do an “X-Men Black” book with no actual black members.

Sane as Xmen Red,and Gold etc.
The difference is that the X-Men Black team would do it with more style.. a lil bit of a pinache.

The colour Black has different symbolic meanings.

Never mind that Marvel explicitly refuted that rumor, saying they weren't planning any book with that title.

I'm afraid that Bishop isn't of African descent - he is Australian Aboriginal, like Gateway and Manifold. (in fact, I believe he's Gateway's grandson)

People from Australia are genetically and most importantly, HIGHLY culturally different, even from a post-colonial perspective, from Afro or Afro-american people.

I get that it makes sense at first glance to put him on the team, but if it's all about the sort of experience that would come with, say, a team-book with only Afro-American members, then he doesn't fit.

Technically I believe Bishop is mixed race. His mother was of African descent, it’s his father’s side that’s Australian.

He was actually planned to be mixed Asain (Filipino) and Black originally.

Can we please not make this a race issue tread?

I opened this, to know if a book with an all black cast would be a success regarding sales, fandom and so on.

The all white X-Men discussions we had it several other threads, lets leave it there, please.

Just would like to know if you would like a cast with Storm, Prodigy, Bishop, Cecilia Reyes, Bling!, Darwin and lets include Gentle as well.

Would you buy a series with a cast like this?
