I saw America in concert last night. And they were great! 50 years on ans the still have it. Don't know if they are "uncool" but I am not embarrassed to admit AI like them.

There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!

I totally forgot about this song until I saw someone on twitter bring it up

It's interesting too because, Rodney was a comedian from an earlier generation but in the early 80's he was more popular than ever ( I'd say cuz Caddyshack and Back to School movies).

So, Cheech Marin is a character actor who has been in a tons of TV and movie projects over the decades. However, depending how old you are, you may or may not be aware that he was part of a hippie stoner comedy duo back in the 70's called "Cheech and Chong". Their most famous bits were "Santa Claus and His Old Lady" and "Earache My Eye" ( at least those were the ones I heard as a kid on the Dr Demento Radio Show). They more or less broke up in the mid-80's cuz Cheech wanted to go more mainstream and Tommy Chong wanted to stay a counter culture guy. Right around this time Cheech released this song which was a parody of Springstein's "Born In The USA"

He was actually able to spin this off into a feature film.

He's not QUITE the musician that his partner Tommy Chong was, seen here as a member of a Motown band:

Tommy co-wrote their biggest hit, the interracial dating anthem "Does your Mama Know About Me"?

We all roasted this guy back in the day, but looking back 30 years later, Robert did have some flow and he could dance. I'll take him over these "mumble rap" folks. Plus what was that show he had like 10-ish years ago where he was buying houses and flipping them?

The Royal Guardsmen doing "Snoopy vs the Red Baron". In the video, one of the "pilots" is wearing a "Snoopy" mask. I had to look it up but United Features Syndicate the owners of Charles Shultz's "Peanuts" strip did in fact sue over unauthorized use of the character.

At the break they do the riff from "Hang on Sloopy" by the McCoys. When I was a kid, I always thought they were signing "Hang on Snoopy"

Oh! I should probably mention that UFS won their suit, so they were then entitled to profits from the song and future songs. Thus, you can find material with actual Charles Shultz art as opposed to the bad imitation art that starts this video.

    While we're on the subject...

    My absolute favorite Christmas song.

I’ll don the mask and wear the cape
If I am super, how can I wait?

I just watched the movie Shock Treatment, it's not really a sequel to Rocky Horror Picture Show, although it's made by the same people with some of the same characters. The film is just Ok, but I do like this song alot

I like me my boy bands, and this is probably the cream of the crop of mid-90s boy band cheese:

Take my dreams, childish and weak at the seams
Please don't analyze, please just be there for me

Does Rob Zombie count? I think it's older rock music...
The embarrassing part, though, comes from the fact that I may listen to the same song 20+ times in one sitting.
