There is a really nice cover version of this by Al Green.

Not a high point in the career of either Nas or Ginuwine, but it's a guilty pleasure of mine:

Um... whats uh wrong with this? Why that's cool.

Now on to the question. I love power ballads. They bring tears to my eyes and make me want to get a candle every time. Every. Time.

I was watching one of those true crime shows recently about Lou Perlman and I thought about this song. It probably the only Backstreet Boys I can hum the melody to.

I'm sure I mentioned this in a different thread...all these 90's boy bands exist because of New Kids on the Block, who don't exist without New Edition who don't exist without the Jackson 5.

I don't think I can embed videos from other sites. These videos aren't on YouTube, but they are on Vimeo.

I was (still am) a huge Nena fan. The German group was best known for their '84 hit "99 Luftballons/ 99 Red Balloons".

This song was their follow - up to their first big single, but it didn't take off at radio. The video did get some play on MTV.

Nena released their second album, titled "It's All In The Game". A video was made for the title track, but like "Just a Dream", it didn't get airplay on American radio.

I like the rotoscoping here. And I used to think it was funny that the bad girls are a "punk" band called the Misfit but there was a real life punk band with the same name.
