There came a time when the Old Gods died! The Brave died with the Cunning! The Noble perished locked in battle with unleashed Evil! It was the last day for them! An ancient era was passing in fiery holocaust!
Alles klar, Herr Kommissar?

I think it's about stuff that's considered "unhip" by some folks but you happen to like.
I think with the Monkees, it was back in the 60's you had folks saying they weren't a "real" band because they most didn't play their instruments on the records.
With ABBA, I guess cuz you weren't going to get street cred the way you would with "funkier" dance music?

Anyway, this was the theme song from a sitcom back in the late 70's. I actually remember hearing this song on "American Top 40 with Casey Kasem."
Peggy Lee singing "I Enjoy Being A Girl".
It's a great pop song written by Hammerstein and Rodgers but it's not the thing you want to be caught singing along to with your ear buds on in the street if you're a middle-aged man.
I'll admit it, I know still because of the Simpsons
The Monkees, ABBA, BeeGees disco music, John Denver
Is Weird Al Yankovic considered unhip?
Avatar: Here's to the late, great Steve Dillon. Best. Punisher. Artist. EVER!
listening to this song makes me want to write superhero comics

I saw this movie on broadcast TV in my early teens and I never got over it. I will fight you in the parking lot over how great some of these songs are
