Cyclops wasn’t around for EXM and IvX and was dead in the first issue of DoX. Besides it isn’t unfair. He could have dropped, flopped and fail, but he didn’t

True. I think DoX and to a lesser extent IvX was Emma's shining leadership moment despite how it ended. It still doesn't put her in the same class as Scott, or even Ororo or Charles IMO.

I do think it's a little bit unfair, as no one else has had to deal with anything slightly comparable. Certainly if Guggenheim wanted to put Gold through Messiah CompleX, Kitty would start randomly getting leadership points.

But, yeah, bc of that (and other reasons) Scott comes out on top. The only one who had a leadership stint of comparable scale would have been EXM, who definitely dropped the ball (which sucks because we know from the Outback era that she can lead a distinctly radical team of X-Men).

I'd like to say Magneto as an edgy pick, but (as Bunn writes him) he is too secretive and narcissistic. His Uncanny team ended with disaster, as it would appear his new Blue team will and it seems the original Blue will end their tenure with him in conflict (speculation based on solicits).

Cyclops was a separatist, which in theory I don't have an issue with, but his vision and direction for the xmen post schism was not ideal for mutants in different parts of the world who didn't have the privilege of being protected by the xmen. Instead if pushing for mutants being separated from human kind he should have pushed more towards humans and working together as this would be more ideal in protecting those mutants in areas abroad. I think Xavier and or storm were better leaders as their approach was one that would ultimately help mutants around the world.
