War Zone is ridiculously good. I don't care if she was big into the medium it's adapted from or not, as a movie, the movie is awesome, and as an adaptation of the Punisher character and tone, it's better than the other two Punisher flicks by miles.

And, to sidetrack it back a bit, Mary Harron is wonderful, just a fantastic filmmaker, and hella stronger than a ton of male directors who get more press than she does, or get a free ride when they make a bomb or a so-so movie.

I've got no quarrel with the notion of female directors getting more opportunities in Hollywood and I can't imagine why anyone would. But . . . Punisher: War Zone was flat out awful.

War Zone was great if only for this scene.

She also did a "How Did This Get Made" podcast that was very informative about the production.
