I'm really really hype for this. I always loved Mera and I'm really happy that she get finally a mini serie only for her.
This will be great, hopefully she can get a ongoing with a different writer after this if it sells well.
Skipping this, for the time being at least. Not gonna lie the Mera book from DC Ink honestly sounds more interesting.
hAHAHAHA.. Good idea put this here and not only in Aquaman Appreciation.. As I imaginated..
Its finally here but man, I wish someone else would have drawn this. It's not bad but I'm not a fan either.
I will be getting this for Mera and Orm I’m glad sticking with that family from the one shot the preview looks good.
Doesn't the city of Atlantis start misbehaving if the monarch is not of Alanna's blood?
Great first issue, the art worked just fine for this even though it wasn’t heavily stylized like the more recent Aquaman issues. It’s about time Mera got her own series, though it’s a bummer it’s a mini taking place while her powers are weak. Hoping this spins off into an ongoing eventually.
Thought this was pretty solid. The third person narration can be a bit out of place at times but it never gets too obnoxious which is probably because of the rest of the issue is really good. Abnett has demonstrated several times before how much he gets the Aquaman universe and he continues that perfectly here due to his great characterization of Mera that is heavily influenced by her past in Xebel and her relationship with Arthur. Not to mention that Abnett seems to be continuing many of the plot-points Johns left unfinished like Orm's life on the surface (and hopefully this will finally and I mean FINALLY lead to the long-awaited Rise of the Seven Seas event).
Decent art from Medina as well. Promising overall.
I liked the start of this miniserie.
I saw good reviews about the first issue... The critic review(of 13 different places) is one 8:
