My personal feelings? No, it shouldn't.

However, the DCEU is messy right now, and it would be a good opportunity for some fixes or changing actors and stuff, so, meh.

Definitely not. It's the most overdone Flash story, this will be the 4th version of it. And the DCEU isn't even interesting enough to care about alternate versions of it. How about we do literally anything else.
Current Pull: Lazarus, The Realm, Seven to Eternity, Aquaman, Flash, Justice League Dark, Justice League Odyssey, Sideways, Black Panther, Captain America, Daredevil, Death of the Inhumans.

    Future Pull: Killmonger.

    what he said.
I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

The 2013 animated version is the best so far. The CW wasted a great opportunity to visit the Flashpoint versions of the Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow characters.

    The comic? No

The name? Even that is a no, because methinks Johns had enough power to suggest putting the name of his comic on stuff so the trade will sell better and have more prestige.

The CW should have saved Flashpoint for one of the all series cross-overs.

If Supergirl's only episode contribution to Invasion! was the very end of the episode, then the shows could all have had a Flashpoint episode. One less episode of filler to write as well.

I think it's wrong to do Flashpoint as your initial Flash movie and for a universe that's barely established and where audiences are barely invested in your heroes and universe as of yet.

No. We barely know what the DCEU looks like; an alternate reality isn't going to have the "punch" it needs.

I feel like they're jumping the gun with this, just as they did with BvS and Clark's death. It's too soon to be trying a story like this.

If they make an entire movie just to justify a reboot.....I don't see that actually making things any better.
"We all know the truth: more connects us than separates us. But in times of crisis the wise build bridges, while the foolish build barriers. We must find a way to look after one another, as if we were one single tribe."

    Good God, no.

If they want to reboot the shared world of the films, just stop making these movies and make new ones. If they want to continue on with the MoS/BvS/SS/WW/JL world, focus on smaller scale stories and making good flicks.

A Superman film with Cavill and Adams that just goes in a totally different direction with a new creative at the helm. Matt Reeves' Batman. Wonder Woman 2. Aquaman. Shazam! Just go forward.

If Flashpoint is like Marvel's Civil War and only using the name and the basic concept (the film improves upon it highly) then sure.

Definitely not. Flashpoint has a lot of negative aspects that the DCEU has been criticized for. It’s a very dark story that portrays the heroes in a negative depressing way. Plus a story with such a huge scale and with his many characters involved could have a massive budget. It’s the last story they should be doing at this point.

They should wait a few years, recast The Flash, and start at the beginning. Just pretend Justice League never happened. Like so many of us have already done.

It could, but way down the line. Certainly not as the first Flash movie in a cinematic DC universe.

The original storyline was done because titles and sales were stagnating. I guess one complication of a character being on the TV and movie screens is that the TV show covers more of the comicbook storylines.
