I recently started reading though the general Marvel Universe with Civil War. I've read through that and World War Hulk. I read through X:Men: The Rise & Fall of the Shi'ar Empire. Now, Annihilation is next on the list. Is it worth reading? Is it good/enjoyable? Does it have (relatively) lasting consequences ?

It is phenomenal. Consequences, sort of. That isn't the reason to read it. It is full-on cosmic crazy and utterly enjoyable from beginning to end. Far better than anything else you have mentioned IMO.

IMO its the best event Marvel has ever done
Current Pull: Lazarus, The Realm, Seven to Eternity, Aquaman, Flash, Justice League Dark, Justice League Odyssey, Sideways, Black Panther, Captain America, Daredevil, Death of the Inhumans.
