"I should describe my known nature as tripartite, my interests consisting of three parallel and disassociated groups; a) love of the strange and the fantastic, b) love of abstract truth and scientific logic, c) love of the ancient and the permanent. Sundry combinations of these strains will probably account for my...odd tastes, and eccentricities."

My entry : Journal de TINTIN édition Belge N° 38 du 17 Septembre 1958

Hergé's first project for the album release was all white too but was rejected by the publisher and Hergé added the mountains and the sky :

I love Hergé going abstract and maybe playing on the idea that the non-painted white is a key element in Chinese landscape paintings.

BONUS : Tintin au Tibet - The Tibetan edition!

This just occurred to me: I don't know if anyone had already brought this up, but how about having the Cover Contest Winners Thread as a sticky atop the Community page so people could have easy access to all the past contests, thus eliminating the likelihood of someone repeating a theme.

I think restorative nostalgia is the number one issue with comic book fans.
A fine distinction between two types of Nostalgia:

Reflective Nostalgia allows us to savor our memories but accepts that they are in the past
Restorative Nostalgia pushes back against the here and now, keeping us stuck trying to relive our glory days.

I know right. Sometimes finding another source for the pic works.

If I recall correctly, the idea of making it a sticky was brought up when Chad first started the winners thread and someone said no at the time, which is why Chad has it linked in his signature. I added it to my subscribed threads list so I can find it with ease every time I need it.

I just added the winners thread to my subscribed threads list. Thanks for the suggestion, MRP!
