Storm x Bishop: why not?

I stopped regularly following the X-MEN comic book franchise a long time ago, so please forgive me if there is a very obvious answer to this very basic question.

Has there ever, anywhere (616, AU, cartoons, etc) been a romance between Ororo Munroe and Lucas Bishop?

If so, where and when?

If not, why not? Is it something huge, like "Storm is actually Bishop 's grandmother or something" (he IS time - displaced, right?), or something tiny, like "too obvious"?

I mean, Ororo has solo star potential written all over her. If she ever manages to escape the Xmen to get her own Alpha status and personal corner of the MU, Bishop could become part of her own supporting cast.

The Stedman Graham to Ororo 's Oprah Winfrey, as it were. But a lot more interesting, IMHO.

Would you support such a romance of ... "Bishorm"? "Orship"? Or whatever their celebrity name would be.

And why or why not?

I'd support it, but only in the context of a Storm solo title, not strictly as an Xmen team romance.

I think writers flirted with the idea in the 90s. Nothing ever came of it. I always thought they'd make a cool power couple though. Bishop needs to be built back up after his portrayal in the Messiah Trilogy, but nobody wants to do anything with the guy.

I really have no problems with it. But with how it ended I don’t know how you can repair it. Black Panther was a dick to her.

If the best premise for something is 'why not?', then in most cases, that's reason enough not to tell said story. 'Why not?' is a very bad premise.

The vibe I always got from Bishop towards Storm was one of great respect, like she was some kind of combination of Maya Angelou/Rosa Parks/Oprah Winfrey in his time.
